As much as we love the standard fixed double bed at the rear, this was always designed with family in mine. I'm rear pleased with how it turned out.

@@THQAutomotive the alternating bunk arrangement into a sofa is a great use of space. I would need some form of garage space also, so would be interesting to see if it could be lifted slightly to give some storage space? I guess you went through all these options👍🏼

@@savvysurveyor5318 Yes, under the back bunk is the A/C and heating. If you didn't have A/C or had roof mounted A/C and moved the heater, this would free up that space there as a small garage.

Was WAITING for SOMEONE to do the XLWB Model, I used to Drive Lorries [Class1] But we also had VW Vans the early LT35s XLWB Jeez the room in the back was HUUUGE And they NEVER Broke down. I;d like to see someone do the NEW Crafter XLWB DSG [8speed] And take it to DARKSIDE For a Mild Tune, Then do the Conversion [That is MY DREAM BUILD]. Best wishes on your success [South Wales].

Not really. The Crafter isn't 6 ft wide and thats how long the bed is.

That's like Tesla cameras. I'd be tempted to powdercoat that side door runner black. If the sunstrip said Crafter HQ i'd order one. Significant difference in height for legs under the table! Love the colour so much. Very curious about the weight and water tanks.

That looks so roomy. I'll be looking for a similar sized van for a music studio/gaming build. I've got some costing done and rough plans. Now it's time to look for remote jobs to get the ball rolling, get an RSA (Australia) so I have the option to work in pubs/bars, another option is fruit picking, etc.

Looks great! On a practical note thé table is too small, doesn’t work for the swivel passenger seats and far too low to be eating at if you sit in the drivers seat.

It looks amazing and it has some nice details, but I can not help but wonder... when your vehicle is 8 meters long (incl. the rear-box) and it will easily weigh 4 tonnes or more, is a transporter than still the right choice? I'd assume a real caravan would then be more comfortable and offer more space with the only drawback of being more ugly. Btw: your 1050kg rims are likely just not enough for this vehicle, after adjusting the weight above the 3.5t.

Never fear, I have a class 2 licence so I've had it up rated and fitted VB air rear suspension to take the extra weight. The wheels are still rated enough to cover the extra capacity. I'm currently in Italy at Lake Garda in it and it's been a dream for a family of 5. Much nicer and less stressful than lugging a caravan around. I've done that before across Spain and this is so much more pleasurable. Plus it looks incredible. The downside is people want to stop and talk about it at every stop 😂
