🤣🤣 ahh so I’m not the only one who does this .. sometimes these shows are slow burning that you lose interest fast, which is why I skip to the parts that seem good. Plus at this point I’m sure we will be experts at translating these badly captioned subs !!

I can understand if he had his reasons to leave her at the altar. But the audacity to think he can somehow still control her life. Within the first 12 minutes, already trying to control what she does in public. And all of this could have been avoided if he had just communicated with her. If he had just allowed her to make her own decision. But no. It's obviously him and only him who knew best. Even after I found out that this was the case, I would not have gone back to him. I would have ripped him a new one for not even giving me the choice and thinking that he knew what was best for me. Because by then all the love I would have had for him would have been gone. I might still care about him but I could never be with him.

After reading the comments in advance (yesss, we all do this)))), I was about to give up on this… but eventually gave it a chance and don’t regret it! Guys, why so serious? C’mon it’s just an entertaining movie, not a real life)) If he had told her about his father’s request - there wouldn’t have been a movie at all! He is not a villain, nor an abuser, he is just a young unexperienced guy (not kinda domineering CEO!))) who just made a mistake, decided that her career is more important than his feelings. Nothing crucial so she can’t get back once he realizes the mistake and tries to make it up to her. Overall the cast is good, the plot is funny, filmed great and subtitles are really good; it was fun watching it

One thing I want to know is who are the casting directors of Chinese dramas specifically because they mostly pick the most basic awkward vibe ML and the second ML who will ultimately be the good guy let down actually fits looks wise, chemistry wise and more with the FL LIKE I DOMT GET IT ! MR GU LOOKS WISE IS PEEFECT AND HE HAS GREST CHEMISTRY WITH THE FL

ML typical young male. His father threatened to block FL career if ML dated her. So he took it upon himself to sacrific their happiness for her career without asking her. In the end when they got together the father did try to block her career and tried to ruin his sons upstart business. Watch at your own peril.
