Nice vid guys You have a new subscriber now 🤩 I live at the bottom of Tambourine Mt and currently looking for something built where I can modify to my taste. I’ve built a couple of Motorhomes in the past and it’s a mission.. you have done a great, well thought out job congrats on Sandy. Looking forward to more of your vids. Maybe after a year of touring break down the cost of owning Sandy like maintenance, tyres, servicing etc and maybe the cost of camping sites you had to pay for etc.. give us viewers an eye into the cost and savings of living the free spirited lifestyle.. 🙏

Nailed it. I’ve recently commenced a Toyota coaster build myself, it’s exciting, time consuming and frustrating at times. I like how you inform the viewers of where you purchased most of your products from but not all unfortunately. The interior touch lights and exterior lights I was impressed with. Can you tell me where you source those from thanks. Once again good luck, I may see you on the road soon hopefully. Brian

Aw nice good luck with your build mate its good fun and very rewarding when it all comes together. The lights I got off ebay and the exterior lights I think off Amazon I'll try find the links and pop them in description I linked a few other things in there too. I'm thinking of doing another video of how I built everything. Like walk through and just explain my methods.

Very impressive build. You didn't mention it, but I assume your second child sleeps on the bench? If you're heading down to the snow, perhaps a diesel heater might be worth investing it too? ;)
@CoastinNOMADS8 ай бұрын
Thanks so much 🙏. The little one sleeps in the big bed with us but sometimes I'll just jump onto the bench seat to get away when it's hot /annoying haha. We do have a diesel heater to go in when we get to dads house to continue the build. I'm going to run a vent into the shower to make it like a drying room for our wet clothes.

I like your vision especially a room for the motorbike. If I want to build a bed like yours, where do I find the hydraulics system?
@CoastinNOMADS6 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. Bikes comin soon 🙌. So if you google bed lift bracket, there are heaps of options, even ebay or Amazon. I payed like 65 plus postage. And they were 60kg struts. I got them degased to 40kg. Now sorta wish I left it at 65 and just waited to see how they would go first. But they work fine at 40.

Never put a stove near a door with steps. Stumbling up or down grabbing a hot pot is uncomfortable

Aw I'd hate to find out why. But I do wish I installed it horizontally

Hey Tara & Kayne, really nice build so far...well done!!! May I ask what thickness ply you used for your cabinet doors please? I was going to use 12mm but yours look lighter, and if I can get away with lighter I definitely would prefer to!! 😊
@CoastinNOMADS6 ай бұрын
Hey there thank you so much. We used 12mm Marine ply from bunnings and I hate it haha. Alot of them are bowed and warped I would go good quality 15mm or thicker for faces. You can get laminated ply I wish I did that. Then you don't have to paint and it's a way tougher surface. Our bus is almost done now. I'm gonna make a video on how I built everything like methods, thought process behind it all and products and materials i used that will be out in like 3 weeks or so

Why does everyone make the kitchen so over the top in these builds? The whole point is to be minimalist out on the road.
@CoastinNOMADS3 ай бұрын
Don't know about everyone else but thanks for thinking the mines so over the top 🙏
@wissidsleeve3 ай бұрын
I like how the sink is sunk into the bench with the board over it, you could do the same with a dual burner gas cooker brom bcf, the kitchen benches in my house are only 450 mm deep sure it's a thinner bench but it's ok, and it looks like you've gone for a 600mm deep bench, in a bus i feel like everybit of space counts i personally wouldn't want to make it feel too cramped.
@wissidsleeve3 ай бұрын
I seen another clip where someone had a fold up extra bit of bench that would set up over the step into the coaster, only poblem was it had dicky support they had to screw a legg in everytime in two places, they should have made a cavity on the bottom side of that piece of bench and recessed a triangle on a hinge so when it woulf fold down it sit nice and flush.

what engine does your coaster have?
@Think-mk9xp8 ай бұрын
The red top Hino engine or the Toyota (land cruiser) one
@CoastinNOMADS8 ай бұрын
not the red top hino. It's a 15b fte, 4cyl 4L turbo diesel. Goes really well I'm stoked with the power. Did about 14-15Lp100 on a highway run.
