In the Anime, when Lust comes to Marcoh to kidnap him after Ed, Al, and Armstrong visit, it simply cuts away and we don't see him again until episode 29. In the Manga Marcoh fights her, and it's revealed he knows how to use alchemy to fight and that Lust has some kind of superhuman powers.

@@highdefinition450 In Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards are people who study magic for many years to learn how to use it via spells which they memorize and must write down in their spell book. Sorcerers are people who, for one reason or another, have innate magical ability and use spells by willing the relevant effects to happen, as opposed to actually knowing how the spell works. Wizards use Intelligence as their primary stat to represent that they rely on knowledge, while sorcerers use Charisma to represent that their power is determined by the strength of their will. Warlocks, meanwhile, are guys with no magical ability who take the quick route by making deals with powerful beings like demons or faeries to wield a portion of their magic.

He did destroy Envy's philosopher's stone. Envy has a core that can live even with their philosopher's stone gone. It's like they have a special 1-soul stone disconected from the bodies' main stone.

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD. Can't really avoid it to talk about this. I thought that was clear enough. Marcoh said he destroys his stone. Also, in the future, we also see Envy defeated again through more... "regular" methods and he still spits out his core instead of dying at once. I was just doing some conjecture of how it works, but from the manga and anime it's pretty clear Envy has some kind of failsafe that keeps him from dying once he runs out of stone. A Homunculus shouldn't lose his powers or form just because he only has one life left, we clerarly see that with Bradley. It's not clarified anywhere, to my knowledge, but Envy behaves too differently from the other homunculos that the "it's just that he didn't burn his stone till the very end" explanation is as much conjecture as anything else (and at least I think the shows displays evidence of the contrary, as explained)

This episode is a prime reason why Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is such a good series. It lets all of the characters do something. The show doesn't simply belonged to Ed and Al to the exclusion of everybody else. There's a moment for even the smaller characters to get their time to shine. Who would have ever thought Marcoh, the same regretful, submissive dude who has been running or held captive all season to be the one to that to Envy? Be deserved that moment to take his balls back. Zampano the real MVP for that one, too. Also, you don't just learn alchemy lickity split. Al clearly didn't understand alkahestey, either. Everyone has their own specific field of where they specialize and Marcoh is known to be one of the few humans who can make a Philosopher's Stone. It's only natural he can undo the stone, too.

Tim Marcoh was the alchemist who discover how to create a philosopher's stone (he make his reasearch in ishval)...so he know how to destroy it with alchemist...he is a fucking genius, maybe one of the most advanced alchemist of all (like the creator of the flame alchemy or basque grand) so dont take him so lightly :D

To understand the father's intention, you need to look more into philosophy. The Philosophical core of this story is one of Taoism. This might be a minor and subtle spoiler, but I think it's fine because it won't take away the fun of watching. Here it goes: the main world view of Taoism is simple, every creation in this universe is part of the whole. Therefore, all things are subjected to the causality of the whole universe regardless of the "free will". One, be it human or insect, can have as mush as "free will", and their actions and decision might seem relatively consequential on a microscopic level(to universe it is indeed micro), but it's really nothing in the grand scheme of things. The fate of all existences is determined by one unspeakable force, which Taoism calls in the Tao. That's why Taoism on the surface level advocates "inaction". Because no one's capable of fighting the force of Tao, and the more you struggled the more you cause misery to you or people surrounding you. However, this "inaction" is often misunderstood as "don't try". NO. What it implies is only that: "the origin and the terminal of you life is really not of your own control, there is no point in fighting to change those because life only takes you where you ought to be not where you want to. therefore when you act, you act for the betterment of you, not the end(outcome)." Now below is the real spoilers, look away if you haven't finished the show yourself: The revelation of father's intention in the anime, was hinted at "I wish I can get out of this flask", and finally at "join me God, I will never be bound to you or your consequences". So what did father wanted? He as an existence, is a consequence of the universe which follows a simple yet unchallengeable rule: equivalent exchange. Like any other existence, he's born with flaws(humans are fragile and weak), therefore he craves for the freedom from being confined --- his self-defined destination of life. Try after try, he never was able to be free, only enlarged his "flask". And that's when he wanted to challenge the rule -- the truth, the Tao of the FMAB universe.He failed, and we all know why. His gate of truth was empty --- he act on others but never on himself, he act for the outcome but never the journey, he gave up nothing of his own trying, and he caused so much misery on others for it. Ed, on the other hand, embodies every Father is not(THAT's why the show is named after him, not Flame Alchemist or Strong Arm Alchemist or something XD). The boys were struggling but never had any intention to stir up turbulence in the great river of Tao --- don't want to cause misery to anybody(though they unintentionally did). They had urgent personal goal but never force it on anyone, they took it upon themselves and they learned things, made friends through the process. And at the end, Ed's sacrifice shows that, it's never really what you can do that get you to places, it's because who you are(the self-betterment) that enables the Tao to take you to there.

Hey guys, I want tell some curiosity about Fullmetal alchemist it's gonna be a big text, but it's interesting things. About the names of the characters, for example This is the name of the younger of the Elric brothers, is also the name of the famous occultist Alphonse Louis Constant who used the pseudonym of Eliphas Lévi. His nickname is "Al", the first letters of the word Alchemy. The name of the older brother, Edward is the real name of Edward Alexander Crowley, better known as Aleister Crowley. Aleister Crowley claimed to be the incarnation of Eliphas Levi who died in 1875, the year Aleister Crowley was born. If you look, ed brought al life again sealing it in the armor that we can say is almost a rencarnation but with a script ahahahah. Van hohenheim his name is part of the real name of Paracelsus, famous alchemist, physician, astrologer and physicist. The full name of Paracelsus was: Phillipus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, in the past he was a slave called "Number 23", but the first homunculus suggests that he has a name and speaks Theophrastus Bombastus, but decides to call him Van Hohenheim for being a shorter name. Paracelsus is also known by the first alchemist to "create a homunculus", obviously this was only in theory, or they are controlling some country hahahahaha. Mustang was inspired by a second-war airplane (P-51 Mustang), an airplane used for rapid and highly destructive attacks. Hawkeye is also a second-war airplane (Grumman E-2 Hawkeye), but it was an airplane used for spot recognition before the attacks. King Führer Bradley, his name was taken from a military commander named Omar Nelson Bradley, the last to win 5 stars in the United States (at least he was when I researched, I'm not sure nowadays), was considered the most humane soldier by not to leave comrades behind and these things, and if he goes to see the character of the animation, he is the only homunculus that was born human. Just to explain, Ling is not, because he is a mixture of a homunculus that already existed and a human, the bradley the homunculus was born in him, it's kind of complicated but it has a difference. I hope you have added something to your experience by seeing Fullmetal.

But even with that he needs to make contact with them, and not gonna lie, you're not gonna get close to Pride, Wrath, Greed or Father without dying, Gluttony and Sloth maybe but even then they're not one to taunt you Well it wasn't just chrysopoeia Alchemists did...there was also the Alkahest, creation of Gnostic and other transmutations He faked the gold actually, made coal look like it temporarily No Greed is still Greed, same abilities just a slightly tweaked personality Everybody could learn Alchemy/Alkahestry, but it's the same as saying that everyone can learn Quantum Physics, it takes years to master Alchemy Scar's arm has both Alchemy and Alkahestry, but Alkahestry is just Alchemy + Xing practices Hmmm, interesting theory...or is it?

They are technically homunculi. The difference between the big guys and these guys is 1 the quantity of souls. These guys have like 15 as opposed to like 100s. 2, the big guys have a chunk of their fathers soul to sort of focus them. These are mindless animals

I would guess that he was created on his own and then bonded to the stone to empower him. Sort of like how the Dwarf in the Flask was created, and later obtained a philosopher's stone.

I'm curios what order the humunculi were made in. Pride is the first and Hohenhiem said pride was Father's strongest attribute, so I'm guessing each one was made in order of which sin was strongest in him. That implies the second humunculi is also a big part of who Father is. If it's Envy for example, that means he has a lot of envy towards others. But who and why?

Pride is the Oldest, Greed is the youngest technically since he was just re-made recently. Before that, Wrath was newest Homunculous. Sloth, Envy, Gluttony and Lust are somewhere in the middle
