@@Frisbieinstein yeah, I was being a little sarcastic to be honest, though I have seen that type of thing before. I think the most plausible explanation is along the lines of what you’re saying… they don’t actually have a keyboard player in the band, so a studio musician was brought in to the record the parts for the song/album, and then live they’re just triggered backing tracks. As a musician myself, I don’t mind bands using backing tracks for the purpose of filling in instruments/orchestration that aren’t practical to replicate in a live setting. Maybe this band doesn’t have the budget to pay a guest keyboardist to play live, I don’t know. But I’m completely against the use of tracks for the purpose of “perfection”, to simply ensure that the performers don’t look “bad” due to being human and not able to play/sing exactly what’s on the studio recording at all times.
