I think Makkari hoards everything about history because she has such a fast mind. I don't think she's only physically fast, her mind also moves at that speed. So she would thirst for knowledge, for everything. And she's so fast that no one can get to her speed, so she would find difficult to live among humans, but still loves them through her stories. And she has such empathy, it's amazing. At least that's my takeaway. Her and Druig are my babies.

I def.believe makkari and druig were meeting up. They didnt stay away all those years alone like people think. Im sure more of that will reveal itself because they were way too comfortable with each other and familiar with each other on that ship vs when we seen them interact in Babylon where it seem like something was there but it wasnt clear.

I think that's the beauty of this intrigue where we don't know for sure. I've read angsty fics where both of them didn't meet up, but pining for each other secretly and assuming the other hates them now. I've also read sweet fics where they did meet, and Makkari was the only Eternal Druig kept in touch with. And I think it's really cool that either scenario could work, whether they are a tragic/star-crossed lovers or secretly in love couple.

I actually loved Sprite before the betraying, she was so funny. And even after what she did and sort of understand (i don't 100% forgive) but after thousands of years looking like a 12 years old and being treated like one must sucks

I love Sprite, too. And, I felt like she was such a tragic character. I wish they examined that more. Really wish this movie spent more time illuminating the backstories of all of the Eternals. She really reminds of Tinkerbell. Great film that has the same tragic immortal child is Kirsten Dunst's character in Interview with the Vampire. Excellent superb telling of a similar "Tinkerbell-like" storyline. Either way, I loved the movie, and hope we get to seem them more.

Druig and Makkari should have had the love scene in my opinion. I also really liked the big brother and little sister dynamic between Kingo and Makkari. I'm right with you on Gilgamesh dying. My husband had to pause the film because I went on a rant when he got killed. I was not happy.

Finally someone else who liked Eternals!! I love this goddamn movie and mostly agree with your ratings (though I love Sersi, not sure how much it's do with wanting Gemma Chan to be my wife but that's neither here nor there) I will say about Sprite that while the Ikaris plotline is ehhh idk how I feel about it, it's easy to say it came out of nowhere when she looks like a child the whole time. It's easy to forget that mentally she isn't one, so of course her fawning over him wouldn't look like romantic interest to us because she looks like a 12 year old. While I like the idea you mentioned about Sersi and Ikaris as her parents and it does sound interesting, she's basically the same age as them except her body hasn't aged! (agree though was glad when Druig knocked her ass out)

There's actually some hints early in the movie, on a rewatch about the Sprite unrequited love. 1. In the quick glance of the Eternals during Sersi and Ikaris' wedding , she was the only one not smiling. 2. She's slightly jealous of Sersi (being snippy and asking them to leave early etc), and she was so happy when Ikaris appears again. And yeah, I loved this movie too! Best movie for me this year - I can't understand why this move is the first MCU movie to get a rotten rating.

I feel so similarly about a lot of the characters. Even tho the 3 of them never really had a scene together, I saw Ikaris, Kingo, and Druig as like the eldest, middle, and youngest brothers. They all fit those stereotypes really well and it makes there interactions a bit more dynamic. This is definitely a movie I want to see again but I know I'll just be disappointed by how little those top tier characters are in it

From past clips before it was even revealed that one of them was bad I think I couldn't even think Druig was the one to be bad because he had so much compassion that I just couldn't see him being evil. He was one of the sweetest and most empathic characters of the movie. Along with the fact that he cared about what happened to the people around him.

I'd literally do anything for Gilgamesh to come back, he has a really good and guniune character and I was really looking forward to him in future scenes and films but then he died 🤡. Although I feel like there is a chance he will come back since they're just "robots" created by Arishem but I don't want the other characters (Ajak & Ikaris) to come back like Arishem could make them again but only make Gilgamesh.

Cool fun video! Finally found a video talking about the fun stuff about this movie! (spoilers ahead) Agree mostly with your opinion. Here's some thoughts: 1. Ikaris chooses to commit suicide since he believes he has failed everyone. He thought his duty was to Arishem, but in the end he failed his master/god because he can't bring himself to kill Sersi. He also failed Sersi because he picked Arishem over her, and betrayed her love and trust. There's nothing left for him so he decided the only way is to "kill" himself 2. Kingo: Someone said Kingo represents the middle brother and I agree. He's a flashy but slightly insecure person who looks up to Ikaris as the golden boy. He's making a movie based on Ikaris' story (mentioned when they met him at the set), and he also told Ikaris "I'll always follow you " (or got his back, something like that) in the Domo. To which Ikaris replies, "I'm not who you think I am". This movie tries to portray each Eternal reacting based on their own feelings and viewpoints. From Kingo's viewpoint, his image of Ikaris as the golden boy is shattered upon finding out about Ajak's death and Ikaris plan. One of his biggest principle is not to hurt his family, and Ikaris betrayed that. So he will not follow Ikaris to hurt other Eternals. At the same time, he cannot bring himself to join the others to hurt/fight Ikaris. Kingo represents the person in the family who's refusing to take side on who's right or wrong, just to keep the peace. From a movie/entertainment point, it does seem a little disappointing but I can understand the realism or point the movie was trying to show with Kingo. Loved your Drukkari rambling! I don't think I was ever much of a shipper, but somehow this two just made me feel things I'm emnbarassed to share. You're right, it's criminal how little screentime both these characters get, and I've to say there's quite a lot of interesting fanfic on AO3 that creatively fill in all these gaps. And some really good ones that knock you down with even more feels!

I know Sprite was very annoying and they handled her badly. I got the sense she used to be mischievous and fun and full of life, but the closest hint to that we see is when she is using her power to tell stories in Babylon. In the comics she was constantly causing trouble, and I wish we got to see more of that. The problem with all these characters is that we see their emotions at this tragedy, but we never saw them or knew them prior. We needed to know them, like in a prequel show or something about their lives on Earth. The end point with Sprite is that she is an ancient soul and a mind that has seen and experienced and felt more than any mortal and that entire time been trapped in the body of a twelve year old. Never being taken seriously or loved or treated the way she wanted or needed. She was treated as a child for seven thousand years. We are breaking apart after twenty years or less the fact she has survived this intact is honestly impressive. I know myself I would be way more insufferable.

Totally agree with you on Sersi and Ikaris. I didn't care about their relationship or characters. They didn't stand out as the main characters to me. They were boring. Unlike Makkari and Druig ❤ they were adorable together. I hope we see a jealous Druig in the future 😏

Ikaris was in love with Sersi from the first moment he saw her and made steps to know her better and come to her, Sersi didn't notice him that way until he approached her. At least that's how I saw it. But we did need to see more of how their love developed.

Not gonna lie that was one of the thoughts in my head when he flew out into space, when I first saw the movie I thought he was gonna do 1 of 2 things. 1. I thought he was gonna fly out and go confront Arishem just like she thought. 2. He was gonna go out and find a new purpose maybe along the way he'd come across the Guardians. Those were my thoughts but nope they just killed off potentially a contender for most powerful hero in the MCU like he could've been up there with Thor and Captain Marvel.

One of the tings I was upset unhappy about was how they mishandled Ikaris and his relationship with Sersi. The other eternals all clearly love and respect him and Sersi, who is possibly the kindest and most loving character in the entire MCU, has been in love with him for centuries. But we never see why they feel that way, we get a couple of glimpses of how he interacts with the other eternals like when he speaks to Thena in Babylon. The only eternal he does not seem to get along with is Druig. We rarely see the good parts of Ikaris and Sersi's relationship. They needed more history, and they needed more chemistry. Their actors were great, the chemistry just wasn't there.

Yeah Sersi is bland. She is the savior. That's all. And Ikaris is toxic to her. Sprite had her crush out of nowhere. I mean it makes sense but how would she betray her whole family for him???when he doesn't love her back??? Beside, she can illusion herself into a adult. She is fine, but a bit frustrating because of the reasons above. I understand Ikaris, but he basically gave up (flying to the sun). It's disapointing. Sersi forgave him at the end of the film(she didn't say it but yeah it's obvious). The others eternals won't but I don't know...give life a chance? Hide in a desert for a whole and then come back to say sorry? Idk? Gilgamesh is sweet. Thena is good but I'm not a big fan of her. She is fine, understandable, that's it. Ajax made a very bad choice by telling Ikaris only. Beside that she is okay, but underdevelopped. Kingo is ok. Phaestos is relatable. He is passionated about technology and just want a simple life. Makkari is sweet and feels like a real person. As in she has her own hobby (collecting object). She seems to like books too and human culture. Druig is seen like a villian (like bruno in Encanto) but isn't. He call people out on their bullshit and try to fix problems, even if people don't agree with his solution. He has charisma and he like to tease. And he cares more than he lets on. My favorite. Uh I think talked about everyone in that movie. Drukkari is the only part of the movie I liked. Arishem and all his ideals disgust me and I dislike the way he lower the value of human life. And since they talked about his ideals for most of the film, I was very annoyed for most of it. And the whole "Phastos invented everything and basically assisted humans" (as in they didn't really invented anything) annoyed me too. Yeah. Drukkari only. And Gilgamesh. Rip Gilgamesh. Drukkari and thena x gilgamesh are the best ships in this story. When the deviant faked being gilgamesh it was heartbreaking!... Edit:oh and I hope Eros won't mess up Drukkari... I have a bad feeling...unless they become a polyamory couple. Which is unlikely with Marvel.

Personally, i'd rather have Eros flirt with Druig cuz there are moments where druig (kingo does this too) have some reeeeal up close flirty-tense conversations with Ikaris & other male characters. iono i want makarri & druig to both be bi. re: sprite's crush, there was that once scene where Kingo & Sprite are eyeballing Ikaris and Kingo tells her "I like watching him too". Along with the "Tinker bell in love with Peter Pan" story, that made me think that he realizes both of them have unrequited feelings for him.

Phastos is the most powerful Super ever (he can build anything: what is Phastos' limit to invent)? He can build nonlethal armor with nonlethal weapons/devices that can stun anyone for any length of time to put them into a jail Phastos built. Phastos could have built a machine to save baby Celestial, age Sprite, make stars and planets with no need of help from a Celestial, and to increase the population to 8 billion a year after the Eternals arrive on Earth using human dna (4999 B.C.: 8 billion humans thanks to Phastos' Baby Making Machine).
