Awesome....I am a fellow traditional archer I took a buck here in PA November 7 also....about 12:05 PM for me...‘twas my 4th buck in 4 seasons with my bow. In PA, we only get one buck tag per season no matter the weapon. Tell me how you like the sling? Better than a stand all around? I still use my loggy from 1985 the original climber they made, and have taken a lot of venison from that stand. She’s like an old high school sweet heart. I still climb without a climbing aid at 52 years old. It’s very lightweight, quick to set up and I can be very quiet. I love the integral seat as part of the stand, which is partly why I have never moved on to other climbers. I also have the loggy spikes installed, and the slip on spikes that go over the rubber portion of the band for gripping slippery, wet, or smooth bark trees.
@FullQuiverOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Those Loggy Bayous were nice. I used one a few times. As for the tree saddle, it is a great tool for certain situations. I would say it is better all around for me. Maybe not for everyone but for me I love it. I just have a fair amount of spots all set up for stands. It’s much easier for me to carry all my camera gear and not have to carry sticks too for the few spots I hunt more than others.

@FullQuiverOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
The wind had actually switched on me and I really needed to move to another spot to continue hunting effectively without being winded. That’s the only reason I was leaving that treestand.

Hello! I love your videos.. could you do a how to use you tree saddle.. I'm thinking of using one.. even at my age of 57.. I shoot a recurve and have for 30 years.
@FullQuiverOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I have a whole playlist of using tree saddles if you look here on my channel. I don’t really use it any different than a compound shooter. The big difference is when I’m also trying to videotape, it’s very tough to get 360 degrees because of the video camera arm. It gets in the way of the tether when swinging around the tree. It can be tough. Check out the hunt from early October 2020 where I shot a doe from a tree saddle.

Gabe , been awhile sense I have talked to you , glad your doing well and a great buck , it’s just firing up here in East Tennessee got a good cold front heading in this weekend , lord willing I’ll see a good buck or a doe , I am wanting to get into traditional archery as that’s how I started as a boy and come away from it . What do U suggest as far as getting started , I’d like a setup pretty similar to what your using there .
@FullQuiverOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I would get in touch with your local traditional clubs in Tennessee. I’m sure they’ve got swap meets and shoots where you can try out a few bows and get an idea of what you want before you spend the money. Having a weight forward arrow setup has also done wonders for my shooting. I gained about 25yds in our local trad league when I switched. But, talking to local guys and being able to try out some different bows before you buy would be what I’d suggest.

do you think ill have similar results with a 60" long 60lb draw longbow? Will the arrow pass straight thru like that cause im using wooden arrows and I want to minimize breaking
@FullQuiverOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the slow reply, didn’t notice your question. It all depends on setup and shot placement. If you hit the off shoulder with a wooden arrow, it’s likely to not pass through. Using the setup I’m using, i get extreme penetration. I use a weight forward setup with heavy arrows. I’ve blown through several shoulder blades, ribs, etc.

Good question. Lots of practice! I just concentrate on the spot I wanna hit and make sure I complete the shot process to make it happen. It’s a lot of throwing a tennis ball around the yard and shooting at it. It took a long time to get to where I’m at now.

@johncom19714 жыл бұрын
@@FullQuiverOutdoors Any particular reason for the 4 fletch?
@FullQuiverOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Johncom1971, I like the short feathers because they are quieter in flight, but they don’t provide as much stabilization as the larger feathers. So, I counter that by using four fletch. I probably don’t need it but in the case I pluck the string, the extra stabilization is advantageous.
