Hats off to this guy. Hes a better father than I am lol. I love my family but wouldn't be able to cram myself in a camper with them like that. Id go crazy!

There’s something magical about truck camping. It brings me back to my childhood. It’s reminds me of making couch cushion forts, building tree forts in the canyon & camping, all built into one. Tent camping is fun, RV camping is overkill but having your own transportable cubby hole is just irreplaceable ✌🏾

It's a great build, but I think it needs two timber brackets on the overhang for extra strength and ascetics. Also, I would put some auxiliary tail lights up high on the back sides to let overtaking lorries see it's wider than the truck tail lights.

I just saw his van on a meet-up (in Ontario?) on Chrome’s Van City Vanlife channel My dad and grandfather build our truck cabin on an International Harvester in Montana when I and my little brother were kids (1970’s). Four people, a dog and a cat lived in it almost full-time. We had several friends with beautiful truck cabins that we saw often on our traveling. Great channel btw.

Tim, I managed to miss this video...whenever you meet most people, you seem to be a very humble person! It is great that travelers open up to you and choose to share part of their lives with you...very cool! I am holding out hope that in the future you might aspire to be like Charles Kuralt. I used to love to watch "On the Road with Charles Kuralt." I know when you take a chance and tell stories about the homeless or even those on the fringe of society, it can become controversial. All I know is that I think you would great at chronicling your adventures and I am sure there are so many human interest stories that you stumble upon that would be very interesting? Anyhoo! It is always cool to see other people's creative house-builds. :)

@@RedFowl9492 ah I see so for this trip it was made to sleep you and the kids. My bad I miss understood the set up then. either way I have pondered a similar set up as yours and his. Where I live we can use our trucks as portable deer blinds on private land . I'm getting to old and to fat to deal with the cold. If I could drive into my spot and camp out in warmth wake up at light and open my door to shoot a deer, lololol, oh ya, standing there in my skivies, Could it really get any better than that ? lol

@@modwrath810 thats thinking smart. This year ill be deer hunting from the truck camper but never thought of a mobile blind however in ontario i dont think itd be legal.
@modwrath8102 жыл бұрын
@@RedFowl9492 Ya , I don't know about Canadian laws but I would think as long as you wasn't standing inside it or one it you could pull it off. But here in Iowa, a truck on private property threading the needle on a loop hole is considered a " Portable Ground Blind " which is legal to use in my state. I know several hunters who have small cabins on trailers they pull around from year to year , same concept.

What’s your thoughts on truck years engine size gas / Diesel trucks. Thanks
@robertenn681811 ай бұрын
Is there a reason diesel seems to be preferred over a gasoline engine?
@everydaybladesinc11 ай бұрын
Because diesel engines have more toque, better fuel mileage, last longer and you can idle them for long periods without damaging the engine.
@masongrainger2271Ай бұрын
Best trucks ever made were mid 90's Ford 7.3 and Dodge 5.9 Cummins. Forget the Chevy diesels, but their gassers were good. As a neat bonus, those mechanical diesels will drink filtered motor oil or vegetable oil if you wanna save $$$
