One of the main reasons why people from Western Culture get mind blown when they visit foreign countries is how peaceful the people and communities are. When you're used to seeing people get robbed, shot and all types of violence, new surroundings lower your anxiety levels, peaceful in mind you get to enjoy life. Not many Americans have ever left the USA so it's difficult for them to comprehend how people live in other place until they go there.

I relate to what Salim had to say. Ever year I go to where my dad was raised in Turkey I feel like I reconnect with my faith and culture. Everything is old and traditional, which can come off as boring at first, but after some time your eyes begin to open to how warm the people are and the true values in life. Everyone is so warm and wholesome and in 30 minutes you form bonds stronger than the friendships you experience in our society. It’s a reset and truly an eye opening experience. I think everyone should experience something like that in life. Go to your nearest small town village ig! 😅😂
