Lord, I woke up from a bad dream where I was fighting with my parents. There are times when I want to go back to when I was alone and could do things my way, but I’m also worried because my parents are getting older and struggling with household chores. On top of that, I feel like I’m not doing well with my career, and my parents are being harder on me. I don’t know, Lord, but I surrender everything to You.

You have done great things for many people, enabling them to serve you, and you will do still more. For you have promised that all our paths will be made straight. You have promised that all we do may be a service to you through Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, whom we follow. It is a mistaken belief that we must forgive the unrepentant. God himself does not forgive the unrepentant. So, we are not commanded to do so. We can and must will the good of the other person. And one good we must will is their repentance. For their good more than our own satisfaction.
