Thank you for the great message, joyfully preached and joyfully received. My view is fundamentally not different from yours, I think but I want to bring up the idea that many have that our purpose is to do something that is momentous and we will recognize it and we will get great joy from accomplishing it. Our life purpose is to seek God, to allow Him to reveal Himself and to come to know and love Him and to find our joy in Him. To quote Martin Buber, “The true meaning of love one's neighbor is not that it is a command from God which we are to fulfill, but that through it and in it we meet God.” And from our attempts to love our neighbor, God will engineer events that we may never see.
