Thanks for the easy tutorial video- we bought this system and have been running it for two weeks and we love it- we chose this unit based on your recommendation. We ordered it directly from the company- and I got a notification it was shipped about 1 hour after I placed the order. We love it- my wife really loves the soft water for her hair and doing dishes. Thanks again.

I've used both the standard and now the double standard On the Go models throughout our 9 years of FTing so far. Love the product. We also spend a lot of time in AZ, so I know how "hard" the water is there. I might suggest attaching metal quick connects to all of your hoses and fittings. A lot quicker.

I find it easier to have a Y connector on the outlet with shutoff valves. One goes to the RV other for use on the regen.

Remove the inner yellow ring. It increases the size of the opening and allows the salt to go in smoother.

@Mnfish224 жыл бұрын
Another thing you may want to mention is to not run the salty water near any vegetation that you want to keep. It will kill it. Where you are is fine because you are on rocks but it will kill any grass or trees around it from the salt

Thank you for your video! If I have the clear source filter system should I put it before or after the softener?

I have a question my unit size 2.5 and how many can of salt should I use? I got it used and without a manual. Thank you
@rn-rvchronicles Жыл бұрын
Not sure what 2.5 is... But if you mean 0.25 can size then you should us 1 can of salt. If it's the larger tank 0.52 size the you would use 2 cans of sale. Hope this helps and if you have any more question ...please just ask!! Be Blessed!

I noticed this is an older video. I’m considering a softener, as we are in Florida for three months, but we also have a tankless water heater. Will this softener maintain a good water flow to maintain proper temperature?
@rn-rvchronicles5 жыл бұрын
I would not be afraid to use it in that situation! I do not notice any difference in flow from just a regular hose or going through the tank. Thanks for your question, and also thanks for watching. Be blessed!
@nestorcolon86386 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. How many time you have to do that softener cleaning?
@rn-rvchronicles6 жыл бұрын
Nestor Colon Here in Arizona where the water is very hard I do it around every four weeks. In areas where it’s less hard water about every 6 to 8 weeks.

Salt in the water! Will leave spots!
@loyalbadams5 жыл бұрын
Why don't you just leave it connected and let it run through your Waste Water sysem by leaving a tap inside open? This may also benefit the health of your gray water tank, supply and waste lines?
@rn-rvchronicles Жыл бұрын
Good idea.. I may try that!! Also will not get as may nasty looks because people think I'm wasting water!

We have the On The Go large size too. When we first got it even after running through the priming procedure my wife complained that she could taste a faint trace of salt but after a while she either got used to it or the taste filtered out over time. How did the water taste after the regen? I’m about to do my first regen. Does your Newmar allow you to fill the fresh tank directly from your city water hookup panel or do you have to fill the tank via the gravity feed? Thanks.
@rn-rvchronicles6 жыл бұрын
I'm just now doing a regen! LOL. I let it run for 15 -20 mins at a very slow pace. Then for 5 mins full open. I never had a salt taste. If we did I never noticed it and I;m more picky the Katie! LOL! As for the Newmar I flip a leaver in the hookup panel to fill the fresh tank! Thanks for the questions!! Have a great day and be Blessed!!

I did the recharge but my strips say it’s a 7 range.... is there something I’m doing wrong? I’m in Palm Springs so the water is very hard, I’m wondering if it should be softer or is this as good as it gets?

Do you put resin in these? and if so how often do you replace it?
@rn-rvchronicles5 жыл бұрын
There is resin already in them from the factory. I recharge it with table salt about every 2 - 3 weeks when we are in AZ. But when were are in a place that the water is not as hard, we do it about every 4 - 6 weeks. We also back flush after every 2 - 3 times we recharge. Not sure how long the resin will last but it should be years before I will have to change that out. Hope this answers your question. Thanks and be Blessed!!

So I noticed that you did not hook up the back flush fitting and flush the water backwards or did I miss it? If I am not mistaken (and I might be) we are supposed to hook up the fresh water to the outlet side and push the salt water solution backwards?
@rn-rvchronicles6 жыл бұрын
Good observation Anthony! However the answer is no. You only need to back flush about every two or three re-gens. I do it her in Az after every two re-gens. On the start of the third I do a back flush for a few mins then I do the re-gen. Thanks for the question and have a Blessed day!!

Is this being added directly into the resin? Can it be done with any DI resin system?
