Is this made in USA? Other models say "hand made in California" on it.

Can this boost tones coming from your amp with cling the distortion

I have a vintage 40 watt amp so it is too loud to get any of those nice natural break up driven tones without using an attenuator of some sorts. So Instead of running two separate drive pedals, one for slightly dirty stuff and the other for full on more distorted, saturated high gain settings, I was thinking of picking one of these up. I'm curious,am I correct in thinking that the drive side on the left has your typical amount of overdrive gain like an ocd or tube screamer, while the distortion side on the right can handle real high crunch box, marshall style type of gain sounds? I need the distortion side to have enough gain for heavy palm muted hard rock songs, and I'm just concerned if I buy one that it may not have enough gamin for me? Thanks.

Mike Thomas I've rented and used the GT 500, and I'd say the left channel (OD/Boost) is not going to give you the drive that a tube screamer, etc. would. It's better as a clean boost that'll give you some chunk when turned up. The cool thing about the pedal is being able to mix the two channels together. You can find some awesome tones. If you're looking at them as two separate overdrive/distortion pedals, though, I'd keep another on hand.

Hey i know this is an old video, but Im hoping you can still respond to a question. I just got this pedal 2nd hand and I wanted to ask you about that scratchy popping sound on the drive knob at the booster side. It does that noise when I turn the knob while the booster is on. Thats about the only con thats annoying about this pedal. i dont know if i got it broken. Anyway it would be good to hear from you. Thanks.

Hey mate so a scratchy pot usually means it's dirty so it needs to be cleaned (from inside the case). Unless you're turning the knob while playing, I wouldn't let it bother me too much :)
