In this series we delve into the world of flipping electronics for profit. From broken iPhones and gaming consoles to computers and laptops, we'll repair and resell these items to make money. Starting with just $100, we'll embark on a journey to see how far we can go. This series serves as a fun side hustle experiment, and I'm thrilled to document and share any valuable insights I gain throughout the process.
In today's episode we try and fully restore a broken iPhone 12 Pro. This probably has been my longest repair in the making, but I break down a lot of information that really highlights the downsides of cell phone repair flipping.
To start off, one area that needs attention is the back glass. We haven't done a back glass repair yet on this channel so I decided to give it a try. To do this repair I didn't have any specialized tools. All I was using was a razor blade, a punch and heating station to try and pry the back glass off piece by piece. While going through this repair I did encounter some difficulties when it came to damaging components. But we were able to replace them and still come out ahead on a small profit.

i just watched your entire series yesterday and am so happy you just uploaded! i love tech and engineering so i was looking into iphone repair as a way to make money. would you recommend buying and reselling fixed phones online (like you're doing now) or running a repair business? or both? thanks!

Thanks for checking out my content! I would recommend by reselling and refurbishing iPhones as a starting point. You get the experience along with reducing the stress when it comes to the repair. If you break something on that phone it's not going to be that big of a deal, no data is going to be lost, no ones personal device is going to be at risk. Once you build up some confidence and done a few repairs I would say that would be a great time to transition towards a repair business. Maybe start on family/friends devices and go from there. I find building a business is really exciting no matter the size of your operation, you always have room to keep on growing and expanding! I do have a video where I go over my experiences from running a cell phone repair business, it wasn't really the most successful operation but I think there is still a lot of great lessons to be learned. Wishing you luck with your business and I hope I can help with your journey!

Hello, excellent content for your channel. Can I ask what software/computer setup you use for creating your content? Your finished videos look very good.

Thanks for checking out my content! As for my editing software, I use Davinci Resolve to edit all my videos and I record on my iPhone 13 with a tripod. Hopefully one day I'll be able to get a dedicated camera to record videos lol

That's dope, where'd you get your parts from? From where I live, the cheapest source to get iPhone parts are from aliexpress, and those take around a month to ship.

Hey man, hope all is doing well. I’ve been seeing some of your videos and they all look very professional and well put together. Really appreciate the transparency of your videos. I’d like to get a contact with you as I’m looking to get into repairing myself. Would appreciate you getting back to me, thank you!

hi what do you do when you get an unknown part message when replacing an iphone screen?
@DayJay8

@Broken Repairs I had a question. Let's say you buy parts from a third party like Injured Gadgets, is there any way to avoid the display message or other issues? Or is there no way to avoid them?

For those kind of businesses you need a lot of investment. It is faster to fix phones for customers. I was trying your way but it is slow process and require a money 💰. I’m now fixing phones for customers and have my earnings same day. You said you don’t want to risk customer data, when phone is working make a back up, so you secure data. So it makes things more safe. I was once put the wrong screw in iphone 6 and phone lose image, and there inside was customer data it took me 6 hours to fix problem and i learned important lesson. Always use magnetic plate to save a screws in order.
