Concerning abortion - my mother was an OB/GYN Nurse in the early 1970's when abortion was legalized in the US. I remember her saying at the time that she wouldn't be surprised if years later women who'd had abortions ended up with deep psychological scars (read spiritual). I myself know women who've had abortions and I believe what my mother said is true. This is so very sad as even 'those' who are Christians and have confessed and asked forgiveness are still wracked with guilt, depressed, inconsolable.

I tried to go to confession and be clean before taking the bread and body of Jesus Christ but the time for confession ran up before the priest had to lead the mass. I couldn’t help but cry during mass because I cannot in my sin partake in the Eucharist . I couldn’t take it in good conscience. I was so sad dare I say broken hearted .

That’s certainly an unorthodox method, but the idea isn’t a terrible one. It’s good to keep track of your sins and bring them to confession once per week. If you’re doing it that way because it’s in your nature or you just like using such detail then I see no issue with it. If you’re doing so from a position of excess scrupulosity though I’d recommend doing something less intensive. God is both perfect justice and perfect mercy, never forget either. You must always lean on his mercy while remembering his justice.

Hmmm...that's an interesting approach. No judgement here at all. 😊I'm wondering if keeping a handwritten (or online) journal - simply written - wouldn't be a bit simpler for you and ultimately free you up to live more for the Lord in the sense that instead of focusing so very much on your sin (which I believe the Lord definitely wants us to confess and repent for but then move on, not continue to focus on it and keep bringing it back up to ourselves), and elaborately cataloguing it - you could be using the time to let your light shine to others by living out your faith and salvation by doing good works and witnessing. I'm NOT saying to do these things as penance, no. I'm saying use that time to spread the love of God to others instead of scrupulous self focus on your sin. This is just a thought. I'm sure if you bring this question to the Lord in prayer He will lead you in this. Notice I said pray to the Lord - and pray to him directly about your sins and ask him for forgiveness directly - you do not need nor is it biblical to have an intercessor such as a priest or a bishop to confess to. Jesus died so that we could go directly to him asking and being given forgiveness for our sins. 🙏🏼

Nothing happens, do not live in fear! Heaven, hell and an afterlife; a vast majority of people naturally assume this is what Jesus himself taught. But that is not true. Neither Jesus, nor the Hebrew Bible which he interpreted, endorsed the view that departed souls go to paradise or everlasting pain. Unlike most Greeks, 1st century Orthodox, Apocalyptic Jews did NOT believe the soul could exist at all apart from the body. On the contrary, for them, the soul was more like the “breath.” The first human God created, Adam, began as a lump of clay; then God “breathed” life into him (Genesis 2: 7). Adam remained alive until he stopped breathing. Then it was dust to dust, ashes to ashes. Ancient Jews thought that was true of us all, when we stop breathing, our breath doesn’t go anywhere. It just stops. So too the “soul” it doesn’t continue on outside the body, subject to postmortem pleasure or pain. It doesn’t exist any longer. Jews believed that nobody can worship ‘god’ from the grave and god forgets us! The word "hell" as a place of eternal suffering was NEVER MENTIONED in the entire Old Testament! In fact, the Hebrew language lacks any word that means "hell." And while some Christian Bible translations still contain a small handful of *cryptic references to "hell" in the New Testament, those references raise a perplexing question: Why does "hell" suddenly pop up in a few stray verses here and there in the LATER WRITTEN books of the Bible, when in earlier biblical chronologies covering thousands of years there had never been any mention of "hell" or any possibility of suffering or reward after death? The answer is later Hellenistic influences. * In the King James Bible, the Old Testament term ‘Sheol’ is inaccurately translated as "Hell" 31times, and it is translated as "the grave" 31 times. Sheol is also translated as "the pit" three times. Modern Bible translations correctly render Sheol as "the grave", "the pit", or "death.

He left out making reparation to whom he (the man) sinned against. Also, the Word of God says, if you confess your sins, yahovah is willing to forgive them AND remember them no more…as far as the East is from the west, He remembers them no more. So the story of the nails leaving holes is not Scriptural. But the rest of the sermon is good…the wages of sin is death but Jesus Christ took all our sins to the cross with Him. We are forgiven. When Yahovah see us He only sees the blood of His only begotten son upon us. Praise you Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

As exorcist Fr. Ripperger said, God can't forget. He's God. But (if I correctly recall Fr.'s words) God chooses not to look at our sins. The problem in this area that is with protestantism is that their "ministers" have zero Authority from God to forgive anyone's sins. Christ established the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also called Penance), and Authorized His Apostles and those they would later ordain to forgive people's sins. There are so many things of the Holy Faith that protestants (any non-Catholic) can not do because they are not attached to the True Vine, Christ and His Catholic Church. Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, and Henry VIII caused and led the separations of billions of people from Christ and His Catholic Church. This rebellion has grown and still continues today. Come Home to Christ's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church today!
