I really feel like he’s letting us rest after 199 and 200. No notes. 1’42 I notice you ask us not to give out spoilers in the comments, so not sure what to say really. There’s a much longer forcible chain in the start. You found it in the last square you notated I think. I’m in the habit of screen capturing the daily and writing out my solve path from that. That’s helped me improve my scanning quite a bit. That and taking a puzzle and just listing what I know from the start state.

I have never asked for no spoilers in the comments, unless you mean for a different puzzle than what's in the video. Feel free to, but it can be polite to type something non-spoiler first so the spoiler isbehind the expand.

Ok. I’ll keep it below the fold. I think your comment guidelines lists no spoilers. I’ll check. Yeah, it says no spoilers on daily game answers…I won’t worry about it though.

I’m not quite sure where the fold is, but a mini spoiler/idea will be below it. Now. It’s useful for me to spend a few beats assessing where to start. There’s at least four spaces that contain unstated knowns. I don’t mark them, because I might get tempted to solve without picking my path. With that top c4 segment, I can easily see that this puzzle is not about a single quarter first. The top half has c1 and c8 completing each other while c4 is solved. Same with the bottom half. This will likely be thematic, so I’ll keep an eye for edges working with the midlines. So, on c4, 1 is r3 by segment size. 3 is r1 due to the cross influence of 2 on c2r1. The c4 2 goes between. On r1, 1 must be in c8 due to the c segment length. Finish that c segment. Now the c1, both r1 & r2 are known. How do we prove where the 2 goes in c1? Actually, c3r8 is one of the givens I noticed when I decided where to start. Besides, it’s thematic. And that forces 2 to c1r3. I finished the 2s there by placing 2 in c4r4. Same long distance influence. And then the 3 on c4r1. We cannot tell where the 1s are on c2/3r3 and c2/3r4. But we know that the horizontal/vertical pairs give us what Sudoku folk call an xwing. No notes necessary. That forces c2r8 to be 3. And that breaks the puzzle. It’s mop up. No guarantee this is the fastest or most efficient solve path, but I’m pretty sure there’s no leaps.
