It is so refreshing how the older children interact with those younger brothers and sisters. In so many small families the littlest and deemed a nuisance by the older ones and they can be grudge having to look after them for any length of time but in your beautiful family they really love and look after them instinctively. True....I was taken care of by an older sibling that truly resented me and being only 4 years older...she was a child herself....she was mean to me but Praise God we became close as we became adults and mothers.

caroline john I love that about this family. I think it has something to do with calm, no nonsense parents and home schooling. The kids have to get along, they spend so much time together! But overall they have all been brought up with a wonderful heartfelt caring attitude. These kids are so happy it’s wonderful to see. A real credit to their parents.

I love that you have your kids take a break from the electronics & direct them to other activities. I'm not one of those, "All screens are evil!" people. (I'm here, after all.) But I've seen so many kids that look (and act) like zombies when in front of a screen. I can't see how a steady diet of that is healthy for anyone, especially those with still developing brains.

Yes!!! I hate when people try to rush away the summer! People here close their pools, they stop going to their lake houses every weekend, take their boats out for the year, etc. Not us! My kids have swam in the lake on fall break in October several times because it was still in the 80’s. I stretch out summer as long as I possibly can!

The weather in Lincoln sounds a lot like the weather in Atlanta. We have about 2 weeks of fall before winter arrives. You are such an awesome family!!!! Hey, I thought of you all the other day when we were talking about going to the Ark Encounter! Have you all ever been to the Creation Museum and The Ark Encounter in Kentucky? That would be such a great trip for your family! We stayed in a house we found on Vrbo that even had ark decor! It was SO much fun! The ARK is HUGE, takes all day to go through and the kids can ride camels and donkeys plus they have a little zoo! It would SO be worth the trip!

I know you hear that a lot. my mother was from a family of ten children and they were close knit all of their lives. they all lived to be elderly and still could remember each others birthdays. at reunions the first thing they all wanted to do was have a group picture made.

I live in Texas (Houston area), it will be summer here until the end of October! LOL! We sometimes get our first cool front on Halloween!!! (of course) Cool fronts bring rain and dropping temps fast. We live Georgia near Ft. Benning, and our summer's are long, humid and hot! Our kids went back to school on the 5th in my area. :) It is so funny to see fall stuff in the Dollar Tree and even Halloween and Christmas stuff in Hobby Lobby and other such places. I sometimes wish we could just enjoy each season as it comes, but I do understand the excitement that the holidays bring and cooler weather will be SO welcome around here after the hot, humid summer we've had!
