@@HotHumblePie As a long-time lover of all things related to French language, literature, and culture, I just couldn't resist. The first carrot picture translates as "Red, half-long Luc carrots." The second carrot picture does mean "long, red, thick, heartless carrots." Also known as half-long Eysines, Luc carrots were a very old variety of carrot, known for being delicious with "little hearts," which I assume refers to the inner core of a carrot stalk. The smaller the inside core, the more outer "meat" and carroty flavor, I guess? The phrase "Réd. au cinquième." most likely refers to where they were available for sale in Paris. I could not find "Réd." itself, but it's probably an abbreviation for "rédistribuer" which means "to redistribute." This makes sense because carrots for sale in Paris were probably harvested elsewhere and then transported, or redistributed, to city markets. The phrase "au cinquième" means " in the 5th," which would refer to the 5th arrondissment, an older part of Paris. So the phrase "Réd. au cinquième" means "Redistributed in the 5th" or possibly "Available in the 5th." Paris proper (not the suburbs) is a very small city (you can walk across it in about two hours), so the arrondissements that divide Paris up into neighborhoods or districts are even smaller. If a merchant posted a product for sale "in the 5th," there was probably no need to state the specific market or shop. Parisians would know exactly which markets were in that arrondissement and could easily stop at one or two (or all of them) in short order. (BTW, I wanted to translate the French that I saw at the top of the first picture, but I couldn't see all of it. If you would like a translation, please let me know what the French says and I'll get on it. I would love to jump into another French adventure/mystery.)

Wow we, these are right up my alley. You have outdone yourself again. Your inner .beauty sure shines thru your work. So hard to pic a fave, I would proudly display any of these in my home. I have just came home from a week hospital stay. I was there for intense surgery. I have to be in bed resting for 2 more weeks. My favorite was a window box. It had some real color. I love color. I have a farmhouse. Bright sunshine yellow kitchen and grape ivy decor. I love the 2nd box with bright flowers.
