Great ideas!! I bought myself some Caran d`Ache Gouache in those cake forms and the tubes. I was so excited to try them. They cost me a fortune, but I figured they would be great for that price. I have been so disappointed by them. I would love to see a video about how you can make them work well, if you find a way! I also got myself an etcher sketchbook. But the A4 size. I am excited to start working in it!

My prints arrived! Yay! So cool. Thank you. I love the hand/galaxy and green cat and they will be lovely additions to the collection hanging in my art room. These gouache paintings are really cute. I love the look and feel of gouache although the color-shift can be a little challenging.

Your cat is a void, it's an interesting challenge 😄Side note, I recently bought a grey toned Hahnemühle for practicing gouache. I find it to be a good compromise because it's basically hot press with enough texture to be nice to paint on with gouache. Plus the grey toned part makes the color interesting.

I love the dreamy sky with lots of colourful clouds! I have the caran d'ache gouache palette as well and i tend to use these more for washes - like watercolor lavis- rather than in a more opaque manner. Would love for you to make a comparison between the caran d'ache palette and himi jelly gouache. I'd actually add the arteza gouache tubes in the mix as well, as i'm quite found of them (and they land in the same price range too). Thank you for your awesome content!

I have my birthday this week. I was hoping to draw and paint my birth flowers-daisies and sweet peas. I didn't know which paint I was going to use. Since I am new to gouache paints, I will look into using them for my drawing. PS I like the paintings of your cats. Many of my friends have cats.

I have both the himi gouache and the caran d'ache gouache. I personally prefer the caran d'ache. The himi gouache box is so big and bulky, and I don't really like the way they smell. I like the caran d'ache for the ease of use, the box is lighter and does not need to be stored flat. Because they are cakes you have to work at them a little bit, but you can definitely get them to be opaque and creamy if you need them to be. I love them for their convenience, sometimes I just want to paint something quickly without having to deal with paint tubes and things like that.

I felt the part where you were painting the cat. Painting anything in very black color is something I struggle with. Especially not to slap on some pure black paint on a subject. But I have to remind myself the concept of lighting 😅 Once again a beautiful video you made, I'll definitely tried this out with my new goauche paint. ❤

I realize the Turner gouache is an Acrylic gouache, and the Himi gouache is not, but I would be interested to know which one you think is better, or which one you would prefer to paint with. The reason I ask is because I have been researching to buy (and try for the 1st time) my first set of gouache paints, and after many weeks of going back and forth as to whether I would be better off getting 56 colors with the Himi set and not having to mix colors which I am not very good at yet. Or, if I should buy a better quality gouache even though it has a much smaller amount of colors. I ultimately decided to get the Turner Acrylic gouache because for starters it was on sale at a great price and I did not want to deal with the reactivation of layers issue. And I also love the velvet matte finish of the Turner gouache versus the way Himi gouache can sometimes look a bit chalky. I always try to buy better art supplies by getting them on sale, so that when something isn't right with my artwork, I know it is something I am doing wrong and not because my art supplies are in some way inferior. Being so new to art, I honestly wouldn't know if the problem was with me, or my art supplies if I did not buy decent art supplies. I just hope I made the right choice for my first foray into gouache painting. I only started painting about a year ago (with watercolors). You have one of the best channels for beginning artists. I really appreciate your videos, thank you.

I think your approach seems to work well with your mindset! Turner Acrylic Gouache is great quality and has a significantly better consistency than Himi Jelly Gouache. The only thing you can't do is reactivate your paint so you have to be quick with blending and use the right paint palette :)

Good question! I haven't found the perfect brushes yet that aren't drizzled after a while of using them. Generally I think that DaVinci ones are among the best I've tried. But you'll see me use all kinds of brands in my videos (PanArt, ZenArt, Staedtler, Etchr...)

Am besten ist Wasserfarben Papier :) Mein Favorit ist das Agave Papier von Hahnemühle. Ansonsten verwende ich verschiedenste Watercolor Sketchbooks (Hahnemühle, Etchr, Moleskine...)

@@VisualMind oki super also das "ganz normale" aquarellpapier weil du meintest das etchr war dir zu rau oder so, hatte ich überlegt ob du irgendwas richtung satiniert/hot pressed benutzt ;)

Those poor cats!!! If your not going to feed them give them treats you shouldn't have a cat! They NEED WET FOoD MEAT or they will die from kidney failure you have to keep them hydrated!!! 💯 😢

How do you know how much my cats drink, honest question? I agree that hydration is an incredibly important issue with cats. Your accusatory tone reads so awkwardly that it can easily be mistaken as a joke though. This is not how you go about informing people about issues like that. Try a less aggressive approach next time. Ps: my cats drink the vet recommended amount every single day. They have an incredibly healthy lifestyle, not that I have to justify myself here.
