@j.alexander4948 I was also born 1983 & my wife 1982, so technically 1983 can be considered Xenniels. XENNIELS- people born between 1977 and 1983, though some sources extend the range to 1985: Birth years- Xennials are a micro-generation of people born on the cusp of Generation X and Millennials. Characteristics- Xennials are known for having an analog childhood and a digital young adulthood. They were the first generation to grow up with household computers and internet access. Other names- Xennials are also known as the "Oregon Trail Generation" because of the popular computer game. Defining features- Xennials are different from the generations before and after them because of the technology shift that happened during their lives. They are not quite as cynical as the stereotypical Gen Xer but also aren't quite as optimistic as the stereotypical millennial. Related events- Xennials came of age during a rapidly changing period that was the 1990s. They remember watching, and sometimes getting personally invested, in the OJ Simpson trial.

@ShytPump
@ShytPump 22 күн бұрын
Actually the true timing isn't by watching anything It's by listening However many steps he takes back, is how many steps he takes forward before you hit him. When he's hopping back and forth he makes a little noise. So if you hear him take 4 steps back, listen for the 4th step forward and then press A. If he steps back two steps, hit him his second step forward. Punch out is loaded with choreographed moves that are loaded with visual and audio clues. It's learning those moves as well as the general pattern of fighting that will win you the game. Very little is random

Older video games had a different philosophy behind them. They were often unfair and "artificially" hard. By that I mean that a glitch or bad game design would make progress nearly impossible. The arcade games, especially, were designed to just steal money from kids.

I first saw this game in 1987 at a friends house, he was boxing Piston Honda, and instantly became addicted. I got Mike Tyson’s Punch out that Christmas, and got so good at this game that I could get to Mike Tyson without codes. About two years ago I went to an estate sale in California and found the original NES system with Mike Tyson’s Punch Out in excellent condition with the dust jacket. Now I can only get to Sandman, at the age of 45. Easily one of the best boxing games of all time.

Never noticed that. Never got stuck. As everyone else in the comments are saying, it was just a matter of timing. Every boxer had a certain movement, that when timed right, would result in a successful punch. Trying to find a darn flash in the crowd would've likely got me knocked out.

He shuffles forward a few times then you time your body punch before he strikes. No camera flash needed. Keep your eye on the opponent and what they’re doing and they will cue you all the time when to punch or dodge.

You forgot to follow up. That isn't the only secret. 1) When you face him a second time there's a bearded man on the left side who bops his head or nods or whatever you want to call it giving the signal when to press the right gut punch again. Of course I never this myself but I still beat this game without these 2 hints as a kid. 2) Oh yeah, and Mario as a ref is not on your side. You can easily tell if you ever seen WWE lol. 3) Also, to gain some of your health back press the select button after the round is over during the dialogue between each boxer. 4) However, be careful not to press the select button before the fight begins against a new boxing match as this will deplete your health. The only boxer this is really useful on is against Mr. Sandman.

I never even noticed this "flash" in the audience. I was always told to punch Bald Bull on the third hop when he went all the way back or the second hop when he went two-thirds of the way back. I always thought Bald Bull was in many ways more difficult to defeat than Mike Tyson, because even if you timed your punch to hit bald bull on the third hop or the second hop, it seemed like there was not a guarantee of precision regarding the effectiveness of your punch. This "camera flash" may explain why. Apparently the punch is supposed to perfectly agree with the "flash," but not necessarily the "third hop" or the "second hop."

Between games like this, Mega Man, TMNT, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, I swear the developers were sadistic. But that is what made them fun. The sense of accomplishment of when you finally beat it and could go to school the next day and tell your friends about it and give them tips and tricks you learned.
