Fun Fishing Frenzy - SHAD/ELF Fishing at Toti Beach over a few days

In this video we set out to target some Shad because we have not caught any this year. We fished over one weekend and we managed some decent sized fish.
the first day the fishing started of slow with a lot of peckers in the water and we were catching karenteen on the shad traces, but in between all the small fish Keenan managed to get himself a few Shad.
The second day was much better and the fish were more lively as the day went on. We managed to get our quota of shad of 4 each which we were really happy about. It was amazing to finally hook into some nice size fish which fought back and this has given us some motivation to push forward to get some bigger fish like Garrick and Brusher

Hi guys awesome stuff once again. Two questions though . 1. Rod that you recommend that we must have and length of the rods . 2. When is fishing better during high or low tide?

thanks Pranil, if you are looking for an all round rod we would suggest a 12ft-14ft rod which can cast 3oz-5oz.This is perfect for targeting almost any edible fish in the KZN area. The brand of rod will depend on your price range. as for the second question , this will vary in the area that you are fishing and on the fish that you are targeting . Some areas are better on a high tide and some are better on a low tide, you just have to fish the area enough to learn the patterns on when the fish feed

thanks Kishendren, we use 3/0 bronze hooks for shad and either a 3oz or 4oz bucket or bottle sinker

hi Ashnee, you can catch literally anything, I've caught one of my biggest blacktail on a karra fillet and I know of even sharks being caught on it too
