I’m a straight man, so I’ll never know what this is like from a gay/female perspective. But oh man, when I saw this show and watched Abby Corrigan perform this song, I was weeping by the end. Because I do know what it’s like to be scared and alone and young and confused, I’m still dealing with all of that. And I remember my Joan. I remember the insane rush of emotions I felt that first time. And my experience with that was very similar to that of medium Alison, dorm room bed and all. How I felt like I’d never known true happiness before, to be so trusted by someone I cared for and to have that trust translate into physical intimacy. Man oh man do I love this show(/book), and man oh man do I love this song.

I was blown away by the Fun Home cast!! I saw the show at PlayHouse Square in Cleveland! Abby was everything I could have imagined as Medium Alison! She remained so much of Emily Skeggs. I got to meet Abby after the show and she was the sweetest, down to earth girl!

The year my show was nominated for Best Musical at the Blumey's, she was nominated for the second time for Best Actress as Peter Pan so we all got to hang out back stage and I met her for a bit and she was the sweetest thing and was so supportive. I wish the world for you, home girl!
