$9.49 for a gallon of milk is crazy. I thought $3.69 for a gallon here in VA was crazy
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
Hello there! I think that was the 2 pack of milk...? I think the single gallon was around 5.49 Still more expensive than $ 3.69 though! Yes certain items here are expensive. Thanks for watching. Hoping for a Costco haul soon!!!

And it was $9.49 for two gallons - still high though!

I live in a small Kansas town. Surprisingly our prices are pretty comparable to what you are paying at our local store . But then again it save me fuel prices and time of an 80 mile round trip for cheaper prices
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
How many people in your small town? I think ours is about 2,000 or so ... It's crazy that the prices are similar!
@georgemcfly120513 күн бұрын
@@ShoppinginAlaska Around 2600 which surprises me after looking at Google. The town I grew up near is about 700.

If you want to ripen green tomatoes, put them in a brown paper bag and place in a dark spot. Will ripen in a few days.

@tinkerbellwizАй бұрын
@ShoppinginAlaska your welcome i had 32 tomato plants in Montana it was going to freeze and snow that night we pulled them all up put them all in bags off the vine they was ripe in couple days all the green ones also make fried green tomatoes there so good 👍 😀

I know...I have found the best way to shop and save the most money is Costco in Anchorage. It's a round trip of 4 hours for us, so usually we will do that once a month. Thanks for watching!
@AlaskaLady58Ай бұрын
They have the best hotdogs there
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
At 3 Bears? Which hotdogs do you like best?
@kathyrau9551Ай бұрын
You have green tomatoes; all you have to do is pick them and put them in a brown paper bag with a banana or two and they will get ripe. You will have to check on them from time to time. Also, they will not taste like the banana but a tomato.
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
Oh awesome!! Thank you for sharing!! That's great

Hi gang. First off, lovely opening views and music. Hudson’s truck looks in great condition for the year. Walmart doesn’t have the clothes that the store went to after carries? Sarah, no laundromat run on this trip? Thanks for the fun.
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
Hey there! Hope all is good. Yes Hudson takes very good care of the older truck. We actually bought a used washer and dryer a while ago. We run the washer with our bigger generator. We have just been hanging drying the clothes by the fireplace. We had to bring it inside because now it's freezing at nights. Our next step is to get that going inside. We are in a dry cabin though. So we are trying to figure it all out. It's been nice to skip the Laundromat. Harley found the pants he loves at Walmart He is very picky about his clothes ..he is a funny one...he is such a good person. Hopefully another Costco haul soon! Thanks for watching !
@ZXX984Ай бұрын
@@ShoppinginAlaska we hardly use the dryer. We have a clothes rack my wife uses outside. We like our clothes and towels stiff. I used a laundromat for a bit when my wife and started dating. Our place lacked a washer and dryer. I could not stand going there. Weirdos always came in or drunks. A bar was two doors down.🙄
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
yep, understand. We don't miss going to the laundromat either! Have 2 new videos hopefully coming out tomorrow on the homestead channel!! Hope all is well with you guys
@skatermom551Ай бұрын
Wow is it expensive there. I thought our prices were high.
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
Oh yes it is! Where are you at?
@debbibowenАй бұрын
But the gas was cheaper than Washington state.
@KathyrawhideАй бұрын
I'm confused. You started near willow home...bypassed 2 biggest city's Anchorage, and Wasilla the capital for tiny palmer? Guess your kids drive & job farther out, since they are teens and above ..Lol
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
No worries. We started at Willow then made our way to Palmer for a dump run then Wasilla. We did most of the shopping there in Wasilla. Anchorage is another hour from Wasilla with lots of traffic...so with losing daylight here in this state we kept it more " local" this trip. On the days we do Anchorage Costco hauls we get a good early start because it's 2 hours each way. Plus loads of traffic sometimes.. Thanks for watching!

Grime, minerals,salt,plant material, mixed with water get inside the exposed sandwiched hollow area of bed " wheel lips",bottom of fenders between A-post, and cowl area ,not so easy to address with power wash. Most times requires elbow grease,shop vac,and compressed air along with very hot soapy water (sponges,rags,etc.) is a must. vehicles don't rot out on their own , people allow it to happen. Washing the outside is a futile superficial endeavor, means nothing in the grand scheme of preserving New/Older vehicles.
@ShoppinginAlaskaАй бұрын
Ok those are all great things to know, thank you!
