James Blonde Working on the game version it’s handling it pretty well with some optimization techniques I’m using. For example the feet are static. They don’t pivot. So that’s two less physics calculations per ragdoll. Which can add up quickly when there’s more of em. Made that optional though. Gonna see how many I can fit in a scene before it crashes just for kicks though lol

ragdoll physics has been implemented eons ago, and most succesfully in games like gta 5 or totally accurate battle sim

On reddit it said that you are self-taught. Care on writing more about that? How did you started, what resourced did you used to learn, how much time did you spent etc?

Doktor Siekiera Well, started off making animations with MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker when I was really little, when I was about 12 started getting into stop motion (LEGO, claymation, etc. more LEGO though haha.) Got myself a little Mack book pro in 2011 changed the game for me, when Minecraft took off I started seeing 3D animations online and wanted to give it a shot (around 15 years old I think). Eventually got Cinema 4D and made my first 3D animation (which is unlisted on this channel actually). And during all this time I’ve been studying through KZbin and google about the computer side of filmmaking AND the live action side. I understand and continue to study both because they truly work in unison together. That knowledge is what helped me make this video. Everything is modeled and simulated to scale. It was shot as if it would have been irl (for the most part). There’s even foot print smudges on the shiny floor in the blue screen room with the ragdolls as if film crew was walking around. Next time you give it a watch take a close look ;). Anyway, all that brings me to today. Now I’ve been studying how a 3D software engine is created, the math and principles behind 3D rendering. Understanding every aspect of it helps me in return make 3D content in an efficient manor because I know (in more detail than the documentation) how it works. 19 and still learning. Passion drives research, creation for me. Cg is fun and all, but I’m ready to make a live action film. CGI is a very close side passion to my true passion of live action filmmaking.
