The problem may not be with the speaker Try connecting another Speaker

There are different cases the system wont turn on, 1) if its the receiver (the grey box where you control source and volume) that wont turn on, you gotta replace that... 2) if it are the speakers, then go ahead and replace them, you can find some cheap speakers anywhere, and if u want to keep the same boxes, carefully take of its grid and replce the speaker driver, you can add every speaker that fits, but id recommend a full range
