Climate crisis: what opportunities does the Amazon offer? | It's Worth Asking

Are we close to a point of no return? How to control deforestation in the Amazon and Cerrado? How can bioeconomy develop the Amazon region? What is the role of indigenous populations? Five experts explore these and other topics in the third episode of It's Worth Asking - Environment and Development.
Experts interviewed:
Suely Araújo: PhD in Political Science (UnB) and former president of Ibama (2016-2018), she is coordinator of Public Policies at the Observatório do Clima, professor in Public Administration at IDP and full collaborator researcher at the Institute of Political Science at UnB.
Rachel Biderman: PhD in Public Management and Government (FGV), she is senior vice president for the Americas at Conservation International. She was executive director of the World Resources Institute in Brazil and co-facilitator of the Coalizão Brasil, Clima, Florestas e Agricultura (2020-2022).
Camila Dias de Sá: agricultural engineer and PhD in Administration (USP), she is a researcher and professor at Insper Agro Global, where she coordinates the area dedicated to studying the agro-environmental nexus.
Arilson Favareto: PhD in Environmental Science (USP), he is a professor of the Postgraduate Program in Planning and Territorial Management at the Universidade Federal do ABC, and researcher and scientific director of the Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento.
Eduardo Viola: PhD in Political Science (USP), he is a senior researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies (USP), professor at the School of International Relations at FGV-SP, full professor (retired) of the Postgraduate Program in International Relations at UnB .
