Josh and Kalie from ExpatsEverywhere breakdown moving to, living in, and working in Yokohama, Japan in this episode of our City Guides. Yokohama is the second largest city in Japan behind the capital city of Tokyo. It's fairly close to Tokyo but has a different vibe as it's not as spread out. It's on the water and has a booming port which is great for expat job opportunities. The city is quite multinational and sees many expats in and out due to the port industry, tourism, teaching, etc. See what the cost of living is, what neighborhoods to live in, the weather, if you should know the language, and more.
We have one more episode of our City Guides to finish up the year so be sure to head over to our community tab page to vote on what final city you want us to feature!

Living and working in Yokohama for close to 30 years. Your info was surprisingly accurate albeit the vast majority of working foreigners are hired in country with zero support from employer. But maybe your target audience is for a smaller subset of the immigrant population.

Thank you very much. 😁 What would you recommend for people that don't get support from employers? - Josh & Kalie

Osaka is the #2 city in Japan Nagoya is #3 I really enjoy the channel but the Yokohama edition is not up to your usual standards. Its the most expensive city I've visited in Japan

Yokohama's population is 3,574,000 and Osaka is 2,592,000 on world population review. That was the # reference. We appreciate ALL of your comments. What wasn't up to our usual standards? According to Numbeo...www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Japan&country2=Japan&city1=Tokyo&city2=Yokohama&tracking=getDispatchComparison

It’s a part of our audience voted series. We source the information and put it into video format. Sometimes merely going there is anecdotal but not definitive.
