Fundamentalism:- it is strict adherence to basic principles of some subject or discipline. It is a form of extremism It is unforgivable Eg:- religion , regional , cultural , racial, linguistic fundamentalism. David E hunter:- it refers to firm dogmatic beliefs in certain priciples that held to be basic or fundamental. Eg. Emerged during 1905 in bengal partition, Other examples:-self respect movement, kashmiri exodus and genocide, sikh riots etc. Characterstics:- 1) against secularism 2) against liberalism 3) promotes ethnocentric views and may also lead to violance 4)has separation tadencies.
