The difference in my opinion on the matter is that I'd rather go after the majority and powerful within the country itself: Christianity, the one's who have the highest influence in the political system.

Davido Having faith does not make you deluded. Everybody has faith in something. Can’t live without it. We are designed to have faith and worship something. Everybody does it. Even if it’s not a deity. Everybody has a god. And that’s not religion, that’s just life psychology.
@aubs104
@aubs104 4 жыл бұрын
@@vincenzopromedia what? I don't know where you get that idea from. I know I don't have a god as you put it. If you mean people have ideologies and moral codes then yes I would say most people do. But I wouldn't call that faith. Maybe I'm using the word differently to you
@vincenzopromedia
@vincenzopromedia 4 жыл бұрын
Davido no I just mean worshipping a god is only spending time with, recourses on, or giving praise to something. When we do that, in a lot of ways those things becomes our God. That’s a common definition. It could be your job, someone you admire, or even inanimate objects like a PlayStation. Like idols. Everyone dose it. It’s innate. We’re designed to. Psychologically, as human beings, it’s just what we do. And then faith as well. It doesn’t have to be a religion or a deity. We always have faith because faith is simply believing in something without evidence. There are things the average person believes in that they don’t know or understand the science behind, but they still believe in it. Like the constant laws of nature such as gravity, or that a chair is going to hold us when we sit, or that someone is going to do what they say they’re going to do. Everyone worships, and believes in something because that’s what we naturally innately do. The Bible tells us which god makes the most sense to worship, and align ourselves with. The Bible is not a, nor about religion, though like many things religion helps. Anyone with a highly organized lifestyle is religious. Some people go to the gym religiously. Religion is not only applicable to faith and denominations. You can’t make the blanket statements that all faith, and religion are deluded, and unfit for a constructive, becoming society.

At 0:38 Franklin Graham says "... that the American people turn from their sins and put their faith in Almighty God..." I think he really means "...that the American people turn from anyone I don't like and put their faith in me and that I know the mind of Almighty God and will tell you what to do ..." Why? If over 70% of the American population are Christian, then, by definition, over 70% of the population already have turned from sin and have put their faith in Almighty God. You can't be the majority AND the minority at the same time. Math doesn't work that way. Unless... maybe Christians aren't REALLY Christians? Hmmmm.

Kyle, there is an even better argument against the US being a christian nation than anything you said. The goddess Columbia. The republics the founders were drawing their inspiration from were all watched over by a goddess. So they made their own up to follow the tradition. You know those statues of the woman with the blindfold and scales? Yep. There are even laws on the books that no building may be taller than the statue of Columbia in the capital, because she must be able to watch over all. Literally the biblical definition of a false idol and an indisputable violation of the first commandment. The best part about this is if you ask any thumper "would the founders have made up a goddess to watch over the government?" we all know exactly what they would answer. The very idea is so unchristian that they wouldn't be able to consider it. Until you ask them the name of capitol of the US: the District of Columbia. Whats the origin of the name Columbia... They cannot argue against it. Its a complete dead end for them.

Part of the problem is that we afford respect to the concept of "faith" (believing in things without any evidence), as the interviewer did in this clip. It is never a good thing to believe things without any supporting evidence. But we have all been conditioned to elevate religious "faith" to something that is automatically and universally respected. Bullshit! We have to stop playing by their (believers) rules. And we have to get to a point in our society where an ostensibly objective interviewer can stop a discussion when someone claims "faith" and unpack why that person believes in things without any evidence, instead of just merrily going along as if faith is a virtue. Faith is the OPPOSITE of a virtue.

Anyone who worships a God who punished an innocent young girl for eatting a fruit really disturbs me. The bible and all others were misinterpreted from an original book written about the movement of the sun. Not the Sun of God but the one in the sky. There is a God but not one individual God. God is all life together as one. One focused force of love. We are all equal part God. That was Jesus's exact words btw. Just as you alone create your dream we all collectively create this world. This world is no more physical than a dream. We also live multiple lives at once. Quantum physics can now prove this. It can no longer be debated. Not logically debated anyway. Wake up. No one is coming to save us. We must create the change. If we can imagine it we can do it. No one can ever judge or limit you but you. Peace & Love.

isaiah Lopez No. See Isaiah unlike Christianity and all other religions which are based on books written by men quantum mechanics is not an opinion it's facts. Religion has divided us for centuries. It was made to manipulate and control people. To turn them into unquestioning free range slaves with the illusion they're free. The truth isn't meant for everyone. Some people that haven't learned their life lessons are meant to believe in death and punishment. But the truth is we are God. God is all life together as one. One focused force of love. Scientifically God is pure self aware electromagnetic energy. Your eyes are sensors that pick up waves of energy and depending on frequency sort them into shape size and color. We don't even see.one percent of the total light spectrum. But there are ways to open your self to the other waves. I've met God face to face. So I don't have to guess as to who or what God is. I know God personally. She's beautiful. She's pure unconditional loving and the most amazing girl you'll ever know. God is not an old hypocritical man. One day you'll see that I wasn't lying. And god doesn't judge but only guides. We are all equal part of God. Just as you create your dreams we all collectively create this world. And it's no more physical than a dream. What gives it the feeling and look of being solid is electromagnetic force. Study quantum mechanics and research dimethyltryptamine if you really want to know God. The real God. But. It's ok. Even the most astray eventually harmonize so take your time if you'd like. Peace & Love.🎆

Speaking of bibles reminds me of this story this friend of mine once told me: This guy was driving far from home late at night so he was tired. He decided to stop by a motel on the side of the road to spend the night there. Once in the motel, a rather attractive girl at the front desk checked him in for the night . Fifteen minutes later the guy called the front desk and somehow convinced the front girl desk to have a drink with him later after she finished her shift. Next morning when both awoke after having a good time, the girl all giddy asked the guy : "how did you know I liked you"? the guy promptly answered: "well, I read it in the Bible" to what the girl somewhat flattered and a the same time thinking the guy was kidding asked him "The Bible, how so?" In answer to this the guy , with a straight face, reached for one of the night table drawers and proceeded to show the girl the inner cover of one bible where it says in big letters: "THE FRONT GIRL DESK IS EASY"

I am a Humpty-Dumptian. I believe in the all-powerful Humpty Dumpty. And as long as the citizens of this great nation continue to reject the true existence of Humpty, this nation will be great no more. Humpty Dumpty fell off of the wall and broke in to many pieces. HE sacrificed Himself for all of us. We must worship Him in order to receive eternal salvation. This is really true--you must believe in my faith. How dare you not agree with my psychotic thoughts!!!

He's right, Believing isn't enough.. You Must live by your faith and walk as Christ walked. It's not easy and we are all sinners but the point is to try your best. We were born a Christian nation, and our founding fathers had God in our schools... Until the past recent years when he was taken out by our government. We need God back in our schools and in our country!

My favorite thing about the notion of a flat Earth combined with creationism is that flat-Earthers say that gravity is caused by Earth accelerating upward at 9.8m/s/s, 1g. creationists argue that Earth is 6,000-10,000 years old. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and go with the 10,000-year estimate. At an acceleration of 1g for 10,000 years, Earth must be traveling through space at approximately 3x10^12m/s, or about 10,000 times the speed of light.

Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with God the Father through his beloved son Jesus. We are not saved through our acts (like religion teaches) but through faith and faith alone. This country was founded on Judeo Christian beliefs and was blessed by God and is why we became the greatest nation on earth. We have since then fallen away from these traditions and are drowning in a sea of sex, drugs, perversion and sin. Of course not all the founding fathers were devout Christians, many of them freemasons, but should that be a surprise, because the word of God says "There is none righteous, no not one." We are all slaves to sin and if not dealt with sin will control your life. Repent and follow Christ who is the way the truth and the life.

I attended a private Christian elementary school in Canada, and in Bible class the teachers were very clear in making us understand that the Bible is just a collection of metaphors that teaches how you how to live your life. I guess that's why the Religious Left is stronger in Canada than the Religious Right.

+Taelforlife Bible class,lmao. And there's no other way of telling people not to kill and rape other than binding that to an imaginary wizard and try to make them part of the club or at least make the connotation? Only goes to show how far too far is. Granted,what you've said sounds better than anything I've heard from America but still.

I as a fellow atheist I totally support your attacks on the religious extremes and wacky beliefs. What I don't support is the militant atheism that you espouse that feels as intolerant as the fundamentalists that you attack. I'm with Alain B and his Atheism 2.0. Religion is part of our evolution as humans. It is about the wonder of why we are here and our explanations. What good can be gained in attacking religion per Se.? I. Fact I think at times you misunderstand the p,lace of religious belief in many people's experiences. My rule of thumb is that if it does not harm and it promotes wellbeing then why attack it. This is what being inclusive and tolerant is about.
