@@np5388 First of all, if the difference in elo is that high then no matter what he will lose, even if he hugs the turret he will fall behind, not as much as dying but at least will not win. Secondly, you either play lethality sion and one shot her or you play tank but not with that build. Full health is bad for bork, a mix or armor and health is better even if you are late to stacking health with the mythic. Thirdly, Sion is better at short battles compared to long ones. He can poke with his combo, regerate and shield so going all out just autoattacking with 0 mana and everything on cd while the opponent is playing with bork and fully stacked lethal tempo is asking to lose. It is better to literally just farm instead of this. Lastly, Renatta has 0 mobility, any gank or even dive against her together with Sion's cc is almost a guaranteed kill or at the very least burning her flash. Tanks dont need to win that 1v1 but securely move to the mid game.

Kayle is not in the greatest spot at the moment, and Sion is extremely strong into ranged matchups (excluding Vayne) as he has all the tools in the world to punish them. I don’t care about that guy’s explanation. I *_PLAY_* Sion, I know how good he is into ranged matchups. It’s literally a free win the moment Sion gets matched up with champs like Lucian, Kai’sa, Ashe or any other marksmen that’s not Vayne. They may have mobility, but is it on a 10s CD like Sion’s E? You literally cannot get to the point where you’re even 1k gold behind let alone 3k if you play correctly. Sion doesn’t give a damn about the enemy’s poking if he just go Dshield Second wind (and if it’s not enough, slap in a Warden’s Mail and drink the tears of the enemy ranged top laner). And EVEN if a tank were to be 3k gold behind, they would still be able to duel the marksmen in a 1v1 easily if they play and build correctly, at least up until they manage to build 3-4 items. Marksmen are naturally bad at dueling other classes, and Enchanters are even worse than that, so it’s very easy for a tank to kill a ranged top laners in the sidelane.

I learned this through the support role - as long as you understand the job of a support and what you need to be looking for, almost anything works. Blue Kayn, Ornn, Zoe, Naafiri, Zeri, Taliyah, Kai’Sa, Quinn, Akshan, Syndra, Akali, Ryze, Jarvan, Udyr are all champs I’ve had success with in silver-plat ranked games. He still showed off some good fundamentals. A lot of times players don’t know how to crash, freeze, fast clear a wave. Sometimes they just stay in lane with 2k gold and die. Sadly it’s impossible to give you a complete rundown of these fundamental. What make a big difference between really low elo and high elo is positioning and cooldown abuse mostly. The only way to actually get better is play a single champ and before every game you try to learn one information about every matchup. Its all about understanding weaknesses between two champs. Like cooldown, range, pushing power, etc. Like in this matchup he knows if he just dodge or shield his q he has about 6 seconds to attack freely before having to play around another q. Then after that you can start learning how lane work and how to roam and more advanced stuff. Btw not a single platinum player knows how to manage wave and more than 60% of diamond too for top and like 90% of mid laner in diamond dont know how to control lane. So dont worry about these specific thing right now

I feel like although he demonstrated vs sion, it would not be true for all champs. Ex: shaco top has way more losing matchups than winning ones and unless your laner doesnt understand lane phase / their champ its most likely you will lose in lane and have a miserable time against most matchups. The point he's trying to make is that with good to perfect fundamentals players will reach a certain level and rank in the game which the average iron-diamond can't hope to achieve. I hate that he calls these "fundamentals" which gives the viewer the false sense that these are basic and easy-to-learn skills. In reality these skills take hundreds of hours of playing on high alert, putting as much though as possible into everything you do, and these videos fool you into thinking this laning phase knowledge and awareness improves your winrate by much if even you lack knowledge on how to correctly do objectives and close out a game, not to mention fooling you into thinking that champions don't matter and that certain matches really have the outcome settled in champion select. This game is stupidly difficult to learn and you shouldn't let people like this make you think there's just 1 simple trick to make you win.
