Sir, at 12:57 why did you multiply with the reciprocal of the gc while initially you showed it as it is? Can anyone help?

Later, at around 20:00, we talk about dimensional homogeneity. We want the units of energy to end up as lb_f*ft. However, when we first evaluated the product, we ended with 500 lb_m*ft^2/s^2. If we multiplied this result by the conversion factor as presented, our units would be lb_m*ft^2*lb_m*ft/(s^2*lb_f*s^2) = lb_m^2*ft^3/(s^4*lb_f), which is quite strange. So we multiply by the reciprocal to cancel the lb_m, the s^2 and one ft, as such: lb_m*ft^2/s^2 * lb_f*s^2/(ft*lb_m) = lb_f*ft, which is the correct units for energy in US units. So, the criterion to decide if we need to multiply by g_c or its inverse is to check what units we are starting with and what units we wish to end. I hope this was helpful.
