I have the same problem with ‘Illegal device’ and was excited to try your solution. Easy to find and download but although my smartwatch is Bluetooth paired, the fundo app just keeps going around and around searching for the watch. I have downloaded (and deleted to avoid conflict) ALL the older versions with the same search problem. Interestingly I do not have a ‘sync/connecting/searching problem with the current version of Fundo, but The ‘illegal’ issue manifests within minutes of the app syncing with my phone. For goodness sake, HELP!

Hi Jane, thank you for checking out the video. There does seem to be a pattern with some smartwatches not working with the app, which is really disappointing. Are you using Android or IOS if you dont mind me asking

@@MMBTechTV I’m using Android Version 8.1.0. It was working fine about a month ago but at the time I set the watch/phone up I went through so many variations I don’t remember which was the one that worked. But consider, since it started to come up with the ‘illegal’ BS I have downloaded and deleted ALL the old and current versions from various sites. The current comes up with the ‘illegal’ BS and the older Fundo apps will not ‘find’ the watch even though it is paired on Bluetooth on the phone. It ‘finds’ all my other Bluetooth devices, just not the stupid watch, which happens to be an L5. (Cheap junk, I know) I am with the current version 3.7.3 Dec 14th 2020 at the moment, at least with that, if I do not delete the ‘illegal’ message I do have a date and time and all the other bits and pieces working, just not the notification of messages etc. I apologize for the lengthy response, but thought if you had all the facts and as clear and concise as I can possibly do, you, being the clever person you appear to be will find a solution. Maybe at some point SHENZHEN FEN YUN TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD, will take notice of the complaints and apply a fix. I’m not holding my breath though. Stupid watch and app!

@@jonesjal That's the problem with the cheaper smartwatches, they normally only work with an app they have partnered with, which is really annoying. Fundo has had problems for a while and you think they would have picked up on it by now and fixed the issue, but NOPE they have not lol. Lets keep our fingers crossed

@@MMBTechTV Thank you for your very prompt response. According to (Cheap) Watch L5 it is partnered with Fundo. In the totally inadequate instruction pamphlet (that’s a very generous description) there is a QR code that when scanned takes you to Fundo, so I believe I am attempting the correct app. Oh well…… but I really dislike being thwarted by a stupid watch.

Thank you, that got it working! Can I ask your advice - Most of the functions are now working, only thing is, the ECG and heart rate are not working. When you try to use it, it gives what looks like a pre-recorded "dummy" read, same pattern every time even if watch is not on wrist. Do you think I have missed something, or is it just a "fake" function on a cheap watch?

Thank you. I am not sure what the watch is, it was sold unbranded. The pack said "UUTEK W34" if that means anything. Friends tell me it looks like it is trying to be a copy of Apple iWatch 4.

Thank you for your efforts ... my L9 watch previously worked with FunDo Pro on Droid Samsung S10+ & previously on Samsung S6, then Fundo Pro update resulted in "illegal device"; have been unable to get FunDo Wear to work / sync / find L9 (eventhough BlueTooth pairs with L9) ... hmmm ... any suggestions?

Pity you cannot find any suitable apps for the Android users. Cannot connect back to the fundo app as per illegal message and has left my watch with raise hand, which is irritating. As for the fundo wear app, couldn't get pass the acquiring the verification code.

Not Very Use Full anymore Because Of android 12. means Watch cant give Push Notifications Anymore Unless you Update to the newest One. . but with doing that Watch wont work with app ANymore

However i am trying to find another solution that will work across a multitude of smartwatches, so please bear with me :-) Have you tried the usual stuff from unpairing the watch, factory reset, re install the app etc..

Hey thanks for checking out the video. Sometimes that can be a safety warning from your device. However the decision is something you have to do. I have done it on mine but that would be something you would need to think about

Thank you but no thank you. I have paid for 2 watches which came with Fundo Software. It's bad enough that the software suddenly gives a tip that my watch is illegal, but this fix is to go back to older software with less functionality. That is not what I paid for. The fix is to sort out the software and for the developers to at least apologise. If not they should refund the purchase cost of the watches.
