The Mennonites do drive regular vehicles and carry cell phones with minimal data. They use only what they need to earn a living / ie, buy and sell supplies, livestock, produce, etc at market. Then they keep the use of electronics to a minimum. My guess is this auctioneer is a Mennonite. There are still other various divisions / sects among the rest of the Amish on the other hand, who still remain off the grid.
