He was not born with the expectation of inheriting the crown and he did not want it. All he wanted was the quiet life of an English country gentleman. But when duty summoned him, he did not shrink from his responsibility to his country and people even during the years of mortal danger to Britain. A truly great King. Memory eternal!

My mother and father were living in London at this time . The nation knew the king was ill , his death was still a a great sadness to the world . As the commentator says , sixteen years in which the world changed and suffered as never before . And the duty of a man who was never expecting to be king was unwavering. He set a standard.

Extraordinary to think we managed to go 70 years without a monarch's funeral and who could have even begun to guess what lay in store in 1952. A little irony in that the King went to Paddington on his final journey. 70 years later, Paddington went to see his daughter in her final year.

A loyal husband who mutually adored his wife, the Queen Mother unlike his failure grandson who will sadly follow him, but never equal him. He was loved because he knew Britain was in for the fight of their lives, and he and his wife, the Queen Mother, Elizabeth, and Margaret stayed to help with the war effort. No doubt the stresses of it shortened his life, paving the way for Elizabeth to ascend at 26. Now she has joined her parents, sister, Diana, and husband in heaven. RIP QUEEN ELIZABETH II, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO BRITAIN!!!

As much as George did not want the crown, he was the epitome of elegance, class, and knowledge of responsibility to his beloved country. Both he, and the Queen Mother, were amazing examples of loyalty, and royalty; seeing how she insisted on staying in England during the war, spoke volumes of her love and dedication to her family and her country. These are the real reasons that Edward was never to sit as King, he lacked the expectations and the responsibility to the people. He fell far, far below the standards of loyalty and dedication. As for Queen Elizabeth II? Exquisite! Long live the Queen! 💐👸🏼

@massabielle2821 2 жыл бұрын
@@hollydenman2929 : Good question, but I do not believe they are anywhere near each other. Edward was a spoiled dandy, whereas Harry is the result of having had his mother horribly taken away, at such a young/vulnerable age, then saddled with an emotionally distant father who was left to raise him, with enough anger in him after witnessing what his fathers betrayal of his mother, did to her. It seems that rather than Harry and Edward be alike, both Wallis and Meghan seem to have been cut from the same cloth; both women used their “talent” to capture their target.

No, Ma'am! He was a tyrant and brutal king. During his reign and World War ll, he created a famine in Bengal confiscating all the godowns of food across the country to feed his armies to fight the war. And the wholesalers, retailers (grocery shopkeepers) increased the price of it (food) like rice, potatoes everything. Only the government employees, politicians, businessmen and riches survived. Many were impoverished and many were perished by malnutrition, starvation and other diseases. About 3.8 Million died.

He was an incredibly reluctant king, who hadn't expected to be anywhere near the throne. Especially during the worst crisis to face the UK ever (WW2). The extreme stress of the war, and three packets of cigarettes a day, took a devastating toll on the Kings health. He died of lung cancer, and pretty young: Especially considering how long other members of the same family have lived for.

Just now I learned that King George VI's funeral was on the day that I turned 12 years of age. It brings back memories of how sad I was over his passing, almost as sad as at the passing of my grandfather, whom I virtually worshipped, in March of '51 at 80 years and 1 week. All this death and departing will end when our Father Yahuah (KJV: "the LORD") sends the Master Yahusha ("Lord Jesus") to descend from the heavens to the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14), and He will call all His saints to meet Him in the clouds to be made immortal and to go to work ending these darkening Dark Ages and to bring on the glorious Sabbath millennium (Revelation 20 and many chapters in the prophets), when our King of all other kings and Master of all other masters, our Master Yahusha, will bring on the fulfillment of the promise of Luke 2:14 concerning peace on earth for all the endless ages, amein & amein!
