Thanks for the great How to Play Funfair tutorial. For those interested, Funfair is a lighter, tighter, faster & friendlier standalone version of our other theme park building game Unfair. With enough strategy and detail to satisfy mid weight gamers, it also serves to introduce players to the infinite modular theme park building fun found in Unfair. We streamlined many aspects of Unfair into Funfair to create a smooth all positive experience for a wider audience. So Funfair is much more than Unfair without the ability to mess with each other's engines. Just purchased and played this last night - a ton of fun and easy to teach/play. The only question that I had was about that awards deck - I don't understand why you place the entire deck for the game if you're only going to use one card. But that was the only issue I had - other than that, your teach was perfect!

Yeah, I don't really thinks there's a real reason it has to be done that way, but that's what they say in the rules, so I did that in the video too.

Funfair is also designed for people like you who love the core building experience of Unfair but cant get to play as often as they would like due to the time it takes to play or maybe the game being a bit to wild a ride for your friends. Is this a sequel to the Unfaire board game?
@matthewlu77804 жыл бұрын
No, it's a simpler, more streamlined version of Unfair. They made the city helpful the entire time, the setup is shorter, the game is shorter, the cards are a fixed set, more things included to make building easier, so on. It's a less "ouchy" 😁 version of Unfair. Cheers, --Matthew

@@WatchItPlayed ah hi thank for replying, i ask this because the unfair its kind of heavy text reliant rather than the funfair
@kavispires4 жыл бұрын
I wish this was a module for Unfair. We do have a game-changer card to remove the unfairness from the game, but that really doesn't work since the game is built on interaction so it becomes very unbalanced.
@coastersandcosplays4 жыл бұрын
That's why this is a stand alone game. Alot of cards changed cost, stars and abilities to make the game much more balanced around having fun and no attacking.
@GoodGamesPublishing4 жыл бұрын
It is true Fabiano that the ability to mess with your rivals in Unfair is designed to counteract the incredible engines and combos you can put together there if thats better than just boosting your own park. When playing Unfair with the World Peace game changer card, you do lose that aspect of the designed balance in the game. But most players only attack other players 0 - 3 times per game anyway. And we know from much feedback that many Unfair players simply don't play mean anyway and still have a great time. Unfair is designed as an incredibly modular and flexible system you can tailor to your playgroups taste or mood. Funfair is designed to guarantee a smooth, fun, positive, combolicious goal chasing experience for 2 - 4 players in 1 hour or less from the very first game with no tweaking required. Its also worth stating that despite Unfair's incredible flexibility, you cant create the Funfair experience with it. Funfair had many tweaks - its much more than just 'the mean stuff got removed'.

Wait... isn't this just a renovated version of "Unfair"?
@matthewlu77804 жыл бұрын
It's a simpler version of Unfair. There's less player interaction, aka less opportunities to mess with other players. Unfair is much more modular, replayable, and expandable. There's already with the first expansion 10 themed packs with 16 more to come, one for each letter of the alphabet. They made the city beneficial the entire game instead of the helpful in the first half, aggravating in the second half mechanism in Unfair. That's some of the differences. But again, Funfair is a smaller, simpler version of Unfair. I backed Unfair and the first expansion and my gaming group enjoy both building our own theme parks as well as messing up each other's parks.😁😁 Currently the themes available in Unfair, if I'm remembering correctly, are Alien, B-Movies, Dinosaur, Gangster, Jungle, Ninja, Pirate, Robot, Vampire, and Western. 4 more expansions for the remaining 16 letters to come. Cheers, --Matthew
