I can finally answer the best book of the year so far question with The Tainted Cup! I'm so glad you recommended it, it was the last push I needed to get it, even if I ended up liking it way more than you did! Murder at Spindle Manor is up there somewhere as well!

Yay!!! This is how you lose the time war! I had a mini conversation with Zuzka about it yesterday, I think it's a very polarising book and I read it when I needed to read it. I loved it.

I've discovered books that I loved thanks to your recommendations. Thank you! My favorite books this year are very different. One of them is a fantasy called The House Witch by Delemhach and I think it's the kind of book you would like heartwarming and full of humor. I also loved The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters the story of a family centered around an event that changed them, told from the perspective of two siblings. And a triller called The Embalmer by Alison Belsham, i absolutely love this series and the main characters.

I love _Guards! Guards!_, and you’re right: it is hilarious. But, as another commenter has pointed out, the author (Sir Terry!) is one of the _angriest_ writers in history. I look forward to hearing more of your adventures on the Disc, and I’ll be listening with interest to find out if you end up agreeing with that analysis.

Looks like you're having a great year so far with those picks! I really need to check out Dungeon Crawler Carl at some point. And then of course, Cahill . . .

Jade City blew my mind as well. Jade War is fantastic too! Still have yet to read Jade Legacy. Recursion is awesome! Blake Crouch is a thrill of an Author. Empire of Silence is good, but has a lot of fluff. At times I was asking myself if I am enjoying the story. As I progressed, it did get interesting.

Just started The Way of Kings! It’s always weird starting a new massive series because I can’t decide if I’m nervous, excited, or filled with dread. This time I’m leaning towards all three. 😅

You’re in for a treat! I’ve only read Way of Kings and Words of Radiance but so far it’s such a wonderful series.

Discworld is funny and fun but at the same time is a satirical commentary on society. It’s not a light read as first the people think. It’s worth mentioning. Haha, 3rd book in Wheel of Time? 😂 Just wait for the slog. I read it when it was released first… and when you discover what’s going on in book 10… 😂 The wish to make a fire to burn books…. 😂 Btw : Sun Eater will change this list fast. 👀 Here you go, some scifi you should read. Octavia Butler - Parable of the Sower (and Talents) does this start in 2024 in the story? Yes…. Is it on university lectures? Yes. For a very good reason. It’s not on the level of the other books mentioned in the comments or the video, this started a religion with its main idea. ☝️ Commonwealth Saga by Peter F Hamilton. It has everything in 2 books. From first contact to murder mystery to government corruption to alien invasion to space exploration to … Ender’s Game and Speaker for the Dead even RF Kuang took idea from these books for hers how the characters are handled. She said so. Altered Carbon for dark cyberpunk crime mystery. These books are handling the technology very good and it’s a tool not the main thing in them so it’s not blocking the reading.
