I have been waiting for this since you teased it on Instagram! I love how long your honorable mention list is, especially since you managed to include my boy Red Rising, and here I am not having enough favorites of all time to even reach a top 10! I can't wait for the sequel to Will of the Many to be announced so I can read the first one and judge if you are correct in bumping the Aurelian Cycle down to make space for it (🕶probably not). Though, "better than Red Rising"? Fighting words!

Hola Isa!

Oathbringer is a very good book and it's tragically underrated in my opinion. But it's not my favorite Stormlight book; that honor still goes to The Way of Kings which is in my top 10 all time. Currently my top 10 goes like this: 10. The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan 9. The Great Hunt by Jordan 8. The Gathering Storm by Jordan/Sanderson 7. The Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie 6. The Bonehunters by Steven Erikson 5. The Way of Kings by Sanderson 4. The Heroes by Abercrombie 3. Legend by David Gemmell 2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss 1. The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos by Jordan Technically that's my top 12, lol. The top 3 have been tied for my favorite book since 1997 and I don't ever see them changing. I power read the first 7 books of WoT in just a few weeks; missing hours upon hours of sleep and laying out of work so much I almost got fired just so I could read those books because I was so enamored with the characters, the world and the story. Never had another reading experience like it. Obviously WoT is my favorite series and I doubt that will ever change.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed Addie LaRue. It was not for me. It is a great book but waaaay too much romance for my taste- it just felt overwhelming. When you were describing the Poppy War I thought you were talking about one of the Joe Abercrombie trilogies. And the Will of The Many is just fantastic. You also have made me even more excited to read the dandelion dynasty and the sword of Kaigen. And I might add Guns of the Dawn to my tbr now although I have only read City of Last Chances by Tchaikovsky and I was not a big fan of it.

I am so shocked that the list did not contain ASOIAF, bro I know it's a bit dark and morally gray but I was expecting it to be in top 3 at least. Am I the only one who's shocked. Also, I've read Oathbringer, bro ASOIAF is way way better, I can't say anything about The Sword of Kaigen(since I haven't read it) but ASOIAF at least deserved a second position in the list. Ik it's dark but the plot is so so good and the worldbuilding is better than everyone else's novels.

I totally agree with your ranking of The Will Of The Many. It was my favourite read of last year and was quiet comparable to Name of the Wind (which in my humble opinion is the best academia trope execution, besides Harry Potter). I didn't expect those scifi elements at the end of the book and despite it reading in first person view, I actually enjoyed the protagonists inner monologue. His struggles were very realistic. The only character I didn't enjoy was his romantic interest (can't remember her name right now). Felt like her character wasn't flushed out enough. Like I don't think they even told us her eye/hair color. She was sweet but flat at the same time.

Oh please. If you're gonna say "of all time", you should include the older classics like Tolkien's LOTR, C. S. Lewis' Narnia, Terry Pratchett's Discworld, Le Guin's Wizard of Earthsea, etc., Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber, and even Stephen King's Dark Tower, Rowling's Harry Potter, and Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. You can even consider Shakespeare's The Tempest (or maybe not : ). Truth is, it's probably impossible to build an all-time list for fantasy books because there's so many to be read and considered. Hey I really like your recommendation, But it's just my selfish desire but how about you dive deeper, how about you can reach more people . Feel free to ignore this content ideas, - lifestyle based content ( i..e. reading habits where you explain many things - how to read consistently / how to maintain reading habits in busy schedule ) - blindfolded book read - go a bookstore and buy a particular amount of book with blindfolded do watch Haley videos for more reference - ranking low rated books - you pick this books with low rated reviews and rank them - there a lot more but this will do for a while, moreover you more ideas of your own ) Btw I brought dark matters from your recommendation videos , I plan to read it after Red Rising

its kinda shocking out of all these lists on youtube they omit classic fantasy writers, like Edgar Rice Burroughs, Fritz Leiber, Karl Wagner, Poul Anderson, Michael Moorcock and Robert e Howard. you should read Robert E howard's Conan the Cimmerian, Solomon Kane and Kull of Atlantis, because alot of fantasy tropes trace back to Howard. Howard and Tolkien are the fantasy genres foundation, without Howard, fantasy would be a very very different genre. Howard's "The Shadow Kingdom" from 1929 can be said to be one of the first proper fantasy/sword and sorcery stories.

@@FunFantasyBooks in six books Joe Abercrombie couldn't wrap up most of the plot points he began or alluded to and gave no closure to most of his characters. Also the adoption of cynical endings by contemporary fantasy writers is not the flex they think it is. If GRRM does it for Song, then that series will be lower in the tier list IMO.

@@FunFantasyBooks once you’ve read it all you will wonder why there’s so much padding, he could condense the story quite a lot without it losing much. The plot and his world of good vs bad, creatures, and the men vs women’s use of power is interesting and its strength, the best is the start and end couple of books, middle is meh.. Overall 6.5/10 max from me.
