My number 1 is really easy, it's the Wheel of Time book series, not even close. Mostly for the world building and the caracter development, even though the story is also great, it's not the main thing. The number 2 and down is alot harder, but some that for sure makes the list is Robbin Hobb, Trudy Caravan, Sarah J Maas, and Brandon Sandersson. I would also include Tolkien, JRR Martin, and Terry Pratchet. I was a bit to old when the Harry Potter books came out, otherwise I think J.K Rowling would have made my list.

Oathbringer is a very good book and it's tragically underrated in my opinion. But it's not my favorite Stormlight book; that honor still goes to The Way of Kings which is in my top 10 all time. Currently my top 10 goes like this: 10. The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan 9. The Great Hunt by Jordan 8. The Gathering Storm by Jordan/Sanderson 7. The Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie 6. The Bonehunters by Steven Erikson 5. The Way of Kings by Sanderson 4. The Heroes by Abercrombie 3. Legend by David Gemmell 2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss 1. The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos by Jordan Technically that's my top 12, lol. The top 3 have been tied for my favorite book since 1997 and I don't ever see them changing. I power read the first 7 books of WoT in just a few weeks; missing hours upon hours of sleep and laying out of work so much I almost got fired just so I could read those books because I was so enamored with the characters, the world and the story. Never had another reading experience like it. Obviously WoT is my favorite series and I doubt that will ever change.

Its interesting how the top 10 of fantasy books is so different between men and women. Women love more emotional stories and men like action, wars and such. I totally agree with your ranking of The Will Of The Many. It was my favourite read of last year and was quiet comparable to Name of the Wind (which in my humble opinion is the best academia trope execution, besides Harry Potter). I didn't expect those scifi elements at the end of the book and despite it reading in first person view, I actually enjoyed the protagonists inner monologue. His struggles were very realistic. The only character I didn't enjoy was his romantic interest (can't remember her name right now). Felt like her character wasn't flushed out enough. Like I don't think they even told us her eye/hair color. She was sweet but flat at the same time.

This is such an eclectic list! Added several of these to my TBR, thanks! Your eclecticism implies you'd probably really enjoy Katherine Arden's Winternight Trilogy, a fantasy slant arising out of Russian folklore. More fantasy readers need to know about this series! I also want to reassure you about Malazan - you are one who wants to *feel* characters, and oh boy, do you FEEL in this series! There's simply nothing else like it. GotM - 1st book - is in fact the weakest of the 10 IMO. Books 2 and 3 are among the greatest books I have ever read, in any genre.

My top 10 1.The Bound and the Broken (starts slow but it's actually worth it-must read!!!) 2. Wheel of time 3. Bloodsworn saga 4. Harry potter (got me into reading so y'all understand) 5. A Game of thrones (obviously... This is a no brainer) 6. Mistborn (To be read before the dark tower series) 7. Kingkiller chronicles (The only drawback is that the third book of the trilogy is still being cooked. But I honestly don't know why Rothfuss isn't taking this seriously as much as I am...) 8. You know there's no list without Malazan book of the fallen 9. Shadow of the wind by carloz zaffon (it's a standalone novel but might be the best book I've read to be frank) 10. The GOAT is none other than Stormlight archive ( I mean come on, it can't get much better than this. Even so, the focus on world building, lore and the magic system is a bit overwhelming but It wouldn't be Stormlight without it, right? Oh and the stand is connected to the dark tower series. So you should read gunslinger and go from there. LOTR too, but it's hard to narrow down to 10 so yeah...

Hard agree with the Cosmere being at the top 🌝, although it shames me to report that I haven’t read Harry Potter! (Just book 1 ages ago!)

@@FunFantasyBooks Stormlight is 'the series' but you should read HP. Although Books 1-3 are somehow considered kids books, Rowling really came through in the latter books. from book 4-8, It goes from being a children’s book to a book for all ages, the part where it becomes serious, the part where it gets real bad... I mean real bad. I would pay $500 to read them for the first time-so you're very lucky.

I have been waiting for this since you teased it on Instagram! I love how long your honorable mention list is, especially since you managed to include my boy Red Rising, and here I am not having enough favorites of all time to even reach a top 10! I can't wait for the sequel to Will of the Many to be announced so I can read the first one and judge if you are correct in bumping the Aurelian Cycle down to make space for it (🕶probably not). Though, "better than Red Rising"? Fighting words!

your channel is really really underrated. Also i have found the reason for your low subscriber number. i.e. 1. you mention the name of the book after describing instead of showing the book and name at first. 2. you don't put name of the book in the time stamp. reason no.1 is the most important . because it will make you more direct and welcoming and get you loyal subscriber. reason 2. is also important for your video search optimization, and also hooking random viewers into your channel as they would quickly get the info they want. Your channel is worth more than 300K or more. Please make these two changes. I would like to see you reach 1M

Im not sure how to view the list. A Song of Ice and Fire has to be at the top somewhere, how do I know I'll like these books when you left the best one off the list? I want to check out the top 2 you listed but honestly why isn't GRR Martin on this list. Same with Tolkien? Both much better than the Wheel of Time no?

Hey I really like your recommendation, But it's just my selfish desire but how about you dive deeper, how about you can reach more people . Feel free to ignore this content ideas, - lifestyle based content ( i..e. reading habits where you explain many things - how to read consistently / how to maintain reading habits in busy schedule ) - blindfolded book read - go a bookstore and buy a particular amount of book with blindfolded do watch Haley videos for more reference - ranking low rated books - you pick this books with low rated reviews and rank them - there a lot more but this will do for a while, moreover you more ideas of your own ) Btw I brought dark matters from your recommendation videos , I plan to read it after Red Rising

The only problem with the Wheel of Time series is it was not finished by Robert Jordan, who unfortunately died before he could finish it. I believe it was his wife and a close friend of the family who wrote most of book 14, but do not quote me on that. Another favourite of mine is the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erickson. Probably not for everyone. The author was trained as both an Archaeologist and Anthropologist, and it shows. Superbly written, but be warned if you pick this series up. It is deliberately written to be confusing in many cases for most of the series. Its only in the last couple of books that these big reveals come from what seems like nowhere, but were foreshadowed in book three or four, and even then some things are left deliberately vague. Its a ten book series, and finishing the last book left me feeling... huh! Kind of muted I know but I was still getting my head around it at the time! It was a Huh of shock, how did I not see that earlier! If that sounds like its for you pick it up,
