Hello, it is an individual thing not an Asian female thing. I am a East Asian female/Mainland Chinese background who came to North America when I was 9yrs old and now fully integrated well in USA/CA with no accent and never been in ESL either (still also remain very much cultured with Chinese cultured like speak great fluent Chinese Mandarin read and write, and go back and visit families in Mainland often and nobody outside of close family will know I am now a ABC/CBC unless I tell them, and not that people care either since most people are doing well back in the motherland too), and as someone who is born between 1990s to 2002s. Majority of my East Asian specifically Mainland Chinese female friends in USA/CA all are corporate girlies, I think almost everyone in my circle are highly educated some have Bachelors and others even have MBAs, some are doctors, some are lawyers, some are IB Bankers/Consultants, some are Accountants, some are doing coding at FAANG, some are doing degree in Engineering and planning to become Engineers, and everyone of those girlies works hard and are trying their best at Life. And most those East Asian/Chinese background ladies I know do well in independently in their finances (since they make good enough money themselves) and most are not after dudes's money, since they don't really need to. Some of them are partnered up/married already to quality East Asian men who are also in Corporate in various industry. Others are still looking for similar level dudes. Whereas girlies like me who put emphasis on God/Spirituality/value/personality first typically will be less picky about Financials.

It's been my perception east asian women are more status oriented and prefer lighter skinned partners whereas SEA women are more relaxed with their standards. That being said my personal experience has been more diverse. One Chinese woman I dated didn't care about materialism so much as long as I made a decent living for myself. Another Chinese woman I dated definitely wanted all the expensive instagrammable experiences like fine dining and vacations. A Korean woman I dated wanted me to pay for a full day trip to Disney on our 2nd date. Fun times and some expensive lessons 😅

NEWSFLASH: This isn't just Asian women, it's lots of different ethnic background females. I've had the most job interview type initial potential dating meetups with black women myself. They ask those same types of questions as far as what's your current networth & where you see yourself in 5 years all while staring you up & down to see what brands your wearing... My experience with Asian women though is that Korean women tend to be the most materialistic & then Filipina after that...

A Chinese girl I know in Paris, she is beautiful, stylish, intelligent, self-confident and very capable. She came to France to study then stayed for work. Even though she can afford designer products and luxury jewels, she wears mostly low priced clothes from Taobao, but she always looks like she only wears Dior and Prada. 😂 She started dating a French white guy, which then was just a very average guy with an average job he did not like (and less paid than hers) and with very little ambition, without any taste nor any ideas about what he wanted to do of his life. But he wanted so much to be a worthy partner to her that he started working out, trying out to get more fashionable and studying to get a better job. And he did become better looking and have now a well paid job. His mother is very thankful to his girlfriend for making her son a real grown up man just with LOVE. Later they bought together a flat in Paris suburbs and so far they are a happy couple in a healthy relationship. What their story taught me : 1. a decent guy would overcome any difficulties to become the best partner of life to his girl ; 2. treating one's girl like a princess is more about willing to offer her everything precious but priceless, like becoming a true knight so he can fight by her side. Obviously if a guy is not even willing to spend some money for a better experience for his date, there are good chances he won't make any efforts to become a better man for her. Material aspects are actually a good first hand indicator, of course gifting expensive things and going to fine dining restaurant won't prove the guy is decent, but penny-pinching attitude shows doubtlessly his real face.

I think it's a huge generalization to say only Asian women are like that. There're women who value materialism in every ethnicity or culture. And not all Asian women are the same. Based on my experiences, I feel that Japanese, Korean, Asian American and Asian Canadian women from the west coast, as well as Chinese women from 1st and 2nd tier cities in China tend to be the most expensive, whereas SE Asian women (particularly Burmese, Cambodian, and Laotian) and Chinese women from smaller towns and cities tend to be more down to earth and easier to date.
