Rooster Teeth is smart in building their own platform and subscription service. Yes, their KZbin network is huge, but it mostly acts as a funnel to their own site. KZbin is murdering off all smaller channels trying to make content creation their job. The result is that KZbin is just going to be all corporate garbage. It's going to just be clips of TV shows, ads, or awful quality cell phone videos...

So here are some things I was hoping to become less ignorant about. 1. I've seen ads on Funhaus vids after the vid has finished, are they the same as "pre-roll ads"? Post-roll ads? 2. Is there a limit to how many comments you can have on a video? I've been a little excessive the past few videos and they seem to disappear. 3. The whole "thumbnails and titles are inappropriate" doesn't fly with me. I'm worried that this is another lack-of-communication scenario that KZbin is throwing out (surprise). What do you guys think?

According to one of The Know's videos, KZbin might be trying to start using AI to figure out if a video is unsafe or not. So a provocative thumbnail or title might trigger something within these AIs programming to flag ads out of the videos. Just my 2 cents

I can't answer for 2, but for 1) Yes. If you've seen ads on thier stuff recently, it's possible that not all of their stuff is frozen. I think ads still play on Sex Swing, for instance. But you can check whether the ads are working with the "Giant Enemy Crab" video they just put out - there's a block for an ad (the yellow bits) smack in the center of the video that plays as if there is no ad there. 3) Yeah, something about that doesn't seem right. It smacks of a KZbin representative that isn't being told any useful information by corporate. "Maybe don't put offensive thumbnails and titles" is a seriously unprepared off-the-cuff response like the representative can't answer the question and doesn't know.

I've always sorta gotten how independent KZbinrs with lots of views can make it their job. But it has always baffled me how Funhaus, which gets, on a good day, 500K views a video, can sustain more than 10 people. I know not all ads are the same, and that they do ad reads. But every time I've thought about it, I would always come to the conclusion that either Funhaus is poor as shit or any indie KZbinr with ~200K views per video is a fucking millionaire.

Considering the amount of people who stop paying attention during the ads. They were here in NZ after RTX Sydney wrapped up. No event's though, just a holiday. Unfortunately I don't think there is enough people in our country for a full event to be financially viable. Maybe they'll turn up to an Armageddon in the future. In the meantime, I 100% recommend saving up and travelling to RTX Sydney. I went to my first one this year and I'm hooked.

When Funhaus plays they generally cut stuff together, like if AH did an hour and a half and cut it down to thirty minutes of condensed "funniest moments". It's just different playstyle and editing direction, but it means Adam thinks Funhaus isn't as good in a live setting. There's a less constant stream of entertaining BS than AH, and a good chunk of Funhaus's humor comes from the editing, which you obviously can't do in real time.

To Funhaus. Imagine a house with a cream painted aluminium fence around it and about a metre of space in between. The ground is made of brick cement blocks, around their edge is a seam of sand and just enough on the top in some spots to make a slight sound when you step on it. The fence takes a left turn on the north west corner and continues about half a meter. Past that point nothing is visible, it's not a black space more of a cloud but it's hard to describe.The weather is excellent, warm with barely any humidity, the sky is bright blue with no clouds in sight. On the south west corner there is a pile of horseshoes stacked on top of one other. On the north west corner there's a standing rusted metal pole. Each horseshoe is worth a thousand views and every time it's placed around the pole it the channel receives a thousand views that it gets paid for. When you turn your back to it the horseshoes disappear. Would you stack the horseshoes on the pole as a full time job to help the channel? And who would do it?

Since they are being so PC, I would just stick it to them and post a 10 minute video everyday that is just a blank screen with the date or something, monetize it, and make the real normal video for the day private. Then put a link to the real video in the "not offensive" one, and tell viewers to open the link in a new window so both videos play out. You get ad revenue and you don't have to change your content.

​Just did a little experiment. Went to funhaus' channel and clicked a bunch of videos just to see if I could get an ad. After about 10 videos with no ad pre-roll, I went to Achievement Hunter's channel and clicked the first video I saw- their Snake Pass Let's Play. Immediately, an ad pre-roll played.
