I lived in my 99 Rav 4 for 6 months in Colorado (Was just enough room to lay down comfortably with the back seats taken out) and I would probably have paid the hundred for the closet. I didn't mind sleeping in the Rav, but having to constantly find a place where you could sleep each night was difficult, since local laws prohibited sleeping in Walmart parking lots like you do everywhere else. I couldn't even imagine being homeless on the street WITHOUT shelter, but the pool is seems like one of the best places to do it, at least short time. Ryan should start his own business. Buy a bunch of shipping containers, stack them up on a cheap lot, throw in some couches, and rent them out for 100 bucks a month each.
