I never understood why people didn't show more respect for this album. It wasn't rated very good either. But this album was fantastic. It was funky to the core, and even George Clinton doesn't have hard feelings with the members of the group any longer. The main guys in this "Funkadelic" band were from the original "Parliaments" doo-wop band with Clinton. So, for people hating on this album, you might as well hate on the entire P-Funk establishment, because this album is legit.

Album wasnt that good or that bad. Its cool if you are. P fanatic and must have everuthing by the mob then its a must have but to me this album sounds like some pissed off guys not only lashing out but imitating their former boss or comrade whatever while the ops was copying gc old sounds and grooves he already moved on to new dimensions they had to get rookies who couldnt funk with gcs band who.was already established and legendary at the time

The problem and I mean the big problem with this album was the band's name! If they would have called themselves Original P back then this album would have done much much better than it did. They were constantly called the fake funkadelic... but they did make it to Soul Train.

After watching the a Parliament Funkadelic doc on prime yesterday, I now get this song. The past members that were alive during the doc, were saying he paid his crew in rocks and not give em rights to music. Instead selling music rights to Nene Montes. He just won them back 12 years ago. Tho Clinton might be a musical genius and what not. He did his people bogus.

chris edwards he made better music than they did. They need some evil in their music. I love those guys, but musically they offered very little to P-Funk. Fuzzy probably added more than the others, but they did zero music of real quality without George. In fact, all of them that left either did little to no work or just crappy work living off the P-Funk name. George should’ve paid people better, but some of those guys were lucky to have a gig.

chris edwards Fuzzy did those 2 solo albums for Westbound and had help from some of the P-Funk members, but they were mostly forgettable. By the time they tried to take the Funkadelic name, it was too late. They should’ve jumped on it in 1976 when they split, but George talked Ray into staying. Lots of the younger Funkadelics said they thought it was Fuzzy’s band early on because he acted that way. They kind of hated his guts for being an asshole to them. The Parliaments needed the Funkadelics. They carried them through the late 60’s. People were coming to see Funkadelic by 1970-1971.

The "original P" weren't even singing on most of the 1960s Parliaments singles. George Clinton wrote, produced and recorded most of those with other people in Detroit. The Parliament-Funkadelic style of the 1970s was developed by George Clinton, Garry Shider, Bernie Worrell, Bootsy Collins, Glenn Goins, Junie Morrison, etc. And then "the original P" comes along in 1980 pretending it was them all along.
