Hey, I’m pretty new to the whole Funko Pop collecting thing, and I was wondering. When something says “Temporarily Unavailable” on the Funko site, why’s that? Will it come back? How long does it usually take to be released again?

To clarify about Protos: As you correctly stated, they are used to test the mold and then the plastic colors. There are two types of protos that always exist, white and color. White (as the name implies) are all white and just used to test the mold. Color is when they cast the POP in the colors that the plastic will be. This is again used to test the mold, but also to test the colors. There are also random other variations. For example, I used to have a Valkyrie Proto that was all tan. The head of the production piece was probably tan, but the body wasn't. When looking for protos, there are three ways to get them with complete assurance that they are real. The first way is to get them from either Gemini Collectibles or Fugitive Toys. These are the only places to buy protos with complete assurance that they are genuine. They get the protos directly from Fuko to sell. The second way is from a Funko giveaway. Funko gives away protos on their live streams, through their social media and on the Funkast. These protos are coming directly from Funko and therefore, 100% real. The third way is at a Funko event, like Fundays or FDO. Again, directly from Funko. I would NEVER buy protos from Ebay ESPECIALLY from China because they ar often fakes and scrappers, just unpainted production pieces, and not genuine protos. IF you buy from somebody on Facebook or Instagram, just make sure you vet them first. Ask them where they got the proto. If they bought it, do they have a receipt? Do they have pictures of them with it from the event they got it from? Just use your best judgement and be careful.

I collect Pop Figures with my girlfriend. I got her a Grail she's been wanting for Xmas. She loves Harley Quinn so in 2019 I got her the original black and red with the pistol and then in 2020 I got her the pink and white Hot Topic Exclusive. I also have the Toxic Rick N Morty's GLID and they never have. Same with a bunch more and they weren't purchased from someone else they were brand new. We've got around 110-150 now. We limit ourselves but maybe for Xmas this year we'll get a small Haul. I just wrapped up my McFarlane NHL, NFL and MLB figure collection. I have well over 200 and many are chases and variants and box sets also with collector levels and autographed baseplates in the later series'. The early series were just the regular jersey advertised on the figure on the back of the package. The variant was the figure from the same series with a different Jersey. I loved collecting them and keeping em in box.

Limited Edition usually means that it is produced for s specific event/date and never produced again. Of course, when there is no number this can be bypassed by Funko or a retailer, but often they don't reproduce stuff.

So a store pop exclusive will olny be sold at that store, and can not be purchased anywhere else unless sold by a second buyer after the purchase from that specific store? Are those more rare and sell for more?

3:56 Basically a grail for me would be if I can the Disney Park exclusive of Indiana Jones which for sale in the UK goes anywhere from £99 - £200... Which I'm actually really sad about because Indiana Jones is my favourite.. I curse the fact I've been poor most of my life and NEVER had the chance to go to disney land :(
