I’m from Texas and went to University 6 hours north from where I grew up. I definitely drove home listening to country music. You’re correct in saying it’s not the collective experience but for some Black people in certain parts of the south it is.

Speaking as a fat woman, I think Lizzo figured it would be a good marketing idea to place herself at the front of the body positivity movement but she didn’t realize she was putting herself in a box. She wanted attention but she didn’t realize what was gonna happen. I agree that I don’t think she is ok with being fat and she honestly probably never was even before she became famous. She could have been fat and doing her thing but she went overboard. I think showing up at that game with her cheeks out changed things for her in the public. She just needs to come out and be honest and say “I know longer want to be fat because people are hurting my feelings and I can’t deal with it anymore.”

@@victory4real611the issue here is that we created hip hop/rap, R&B and Country along with rock and roll. We left the last two because other people high jacked it and kept us out of it. We are loosing control of hip hop and r&b. The sound and style has been so watered down that anyone can do it. Soon you will see more and more white artists with less and less black ones. The music they created (I guess) is still there’s. The opera, orchestra, river dance and stuff like that. They are in no danger of us taking over clogging.
