Funky, I did 22 years in the Navy and I can tell you, there are many people that would give "give their life for the country." Not me girl, I joined for the check and the college benefits. I didn't start any wars, and my goal, was to lay low and come home to my family. All by combat was on the ship. I volunteered to go to Afghanistan once, and it didn't happen. I learned that as I wanted to go, my mom prayed I didn't. If I had died, all she'd get was a flag and a $450k check. There are lots of brave men and women that without question put themselves in harm way. Somehow, they put their fears aside and are willing to sacrifice their life on the front line. I was in the office updating their service records and making sure they were paid!

She doesn't have too. Also Halle has multiple movies coming out this year. If Halle had scheduling conflicts. She couldn't do it. I doubt Ms Halle is pressed about Kim K. There may be million other Black actress. Ryan Murphy can go get. But there is only one Halle Berry. Funky was capping for Kim K hard....If you wanna be 100% honest Kim shouldn't be in a movie or tv show. With Halle or Glenn Close. The talent level is moons apart. 😅😂

My mother called what Q is doing "the poor mans syndrome." When people aren't use to money, jobs, and certain luxuries they talk about it constantly. They try to convince the world of how awesome they are, in wanting to be accepted. When you got it, and are use to it having things/money, you just enjoy it. He's still angry about what Mitchell showed the KZbin streets. He said it, and then acted like he was just playing. No he wasn't, he meant every word. Funky is not doing ANYTHING, that anyone reading this comment can't do. You don't need a degree to do this. His mentor Mitchell did not have a degree and she provided him with a place to live. Yeah No! It's another way to show Superiority. And then he goes on to tell you none of us are special, and in the same breath say that " he was favored." You can't make this stuff up.

Not true! My son joined the National Guards at 17. Once he graduated from high school, he attended FAMU. Graduated from FAMU went on to Detroit Mercy where he and his wife graduated as Dentist. They're now full time Navy and are dentist in the military. They decided to take FULL advantage of allowing the military pay their full college tuition. So now when they get out they will not have any school loans to pay. They joined the military for a purpose and makes over six figures, housing paid for, free insurance, and traveling the world enjoying life. So not all people join because they have no goals or a purpose in life.

Like many said, it’s the job they chose with the knowledge they may die on the job. You shouldn’t sign up if you don’t think you’ll put yourself in harms way, I know I wouldn’t. Think about nurses during covid. They knew they could get sick from this new thing but understood the job they signed up to do. I had the same mindset until I became a homeowner. Most people don’t think about when the entire ac unit needs to be replaced or a pipe has broken inside the wall or even a toilet you didn’t realize had a leak until you get a $1000 water bill. All of those things are taken care of by the landlord when renting, in most cases. As a renter when you have a problem you call the landlord or superintendent as a homeowner you only have yourself and your insurance, if you want to take the hit to the insurance.

I currently live in Atlanta, and have been here for 10years. I understand where Funky is coming from. However Atlanta is a city of the haves and have nots. There are those that have put in the work preparing themselves BEFORE they move here who are doing well. However there are lots of people who are struggling. Crime is real here. Only a couple of months ago 3 men in the Apt next to mine were killed over a marijuana deal that went bad. One of the men crawled in front of my apt door and died. All in their 20s. There is a serious homeless problem here, that no one seems to acknowledge. The poor seems to be invisible.

How soon we do forget Q. Just last night, you spoke on the lady who said her coworkers were talking about her wearing diamonds and such. You said that if it's causing that much of an issue on her job, she should just stop wearing them. Now you're saying it's a staple in the black community, that we shouldn't feel bad for living in our truth and speaking on what you have. Which one is it? Why couldn't the lady you spoke on last night told to wear her diamonds all she wanted to? You can really be hypocritical at times. You keep on speaking on how you live better than others and how you are unemployable and this, that and the other because you make your own money. Life always has a way of reminding us of exactly what humility is. Never say never, honey. You NEVER know where life will take you. I'm sure the man who played Elvin on the Cosby Show never saw himself bagging groceries at Trader Joe's years down the road. However, he was.

Because she was complaining about the outcome....that is the difference. He wasn't saying that she shouldn't based off of the principle. He was saying because it was causing her so many problems and issues at work so to eliminate the problem, eliminate the cause. If she did not have any problems, I am sure that he would have not suggested that she not wear it. Plus, he didn't say that she shouldn't wear it at all in general..just at work, where she experienced problems because of it.

Funky saying that you live better than your audience does not fall under the definition of modesty. Also based on what you have told us, you have the thoughts of you living better than your audience to combat the negativity you get from being a c list celebrity. You can talk about your life and we can celebrate with you. You don’t have to put yourself up by comparing what you have. You don’t tell your friends with money they broke, no you simply just enjoy life with them. P. S. You are very sensitive

Funky, I have to disagree with you on the law enforcement topic. MOST people that sign up for this job have a ‘servant’s heart’. This means that something inside of them desires to help & protect others in need. It is a calling. It is a selfless act and career. They are called heroes bc they run towards danger while others run away. All for the well-being of others. I have a degree, plenty of job/career options, & I am financially stable. Being injured is a risk that all officers pray never happens but the training that is endured is to help prevent that. I am an officer. I didn’t choose law enforcement, law enforcement chose me. I love you Funky but don’t be so insensitive to ppl that already have it harder than most when it comes to jobs. We are overworked and underpaid. Those that get in it for the money as you said usually don’t last past 2 years.❤❤❤

The police academy alone is very dangerous and after having to be up and at attention everyday at 5am until 10 pm 5 days a week at the academy for $11 an hour I realized my life ain’t worth the 45k I was going to start off at.

He is not right. We don't care why these men became officers, their job is to protect and serve. If you can't do that then you are not qualified to be a officer. Maybe you should be a security officer. When those officers with guns, ammunition, and bullet proof vest didn't go in the school to help save those dying kids I'm hearing that they were terminated. That means that jobs was not for them.
@KeshaL8410

Q is absolutely wrong. First, I know officers who make $100K plus and they ALL went to college. Some municipalities require at least an Associates and sometimes a Bachelors degree. Also, if you don't want to do the job you shouldn't sign up for it. There are people who believe in saving lives or at least under they are putting themselves in danger (like some cops and firefighters). That is the job they chose. It's not the same as someone working at a call center and deciding not to pick up the phone. So if your building was on fire wouldn't you have a problem if all the fire fighters decided they were scared and didn't want to come get you or get close enough to use the hose? I would never sign up for any of those jobs though. Still doesn't change that you're wrong Q.
