The reason why many people have this pre-conceived notion that dark-skinned Black women are aggressive and angry is because of colorism. OG does not give me “angry black woman” and frankly you shouldn’t even say that as you are perpetuating that stereotype by speaking that over her. OG has an assertive personality which she shouldn’t have to apologize for. Those women isolated her and when she reacted they played victim because it was easy to position OG as a villain. Whether your bias are conscious or unconscious, people will not give the dark skin woman the benefit of the doubt. You yourself, a dark skin man, have biases against her. Their issue with OG is her confidence. She came into the group not kissing their as$ and they took issue with that. If keeping it all the way real, some women who look like her usually cower in the presence of lighter complected women with keen features. OG didn't. Why can’t dark-skinned Black women in particular or Black women in general be angry without being cast as violent? You have a whole program on Lifetime called Snapped about white women committing murder. However, whenever a Black woman raises her voice all these violent intentions are prescribed to her. Evilyn has assaulted women, turned over tables, and threw a liquor bottle across the room(which nearly hit Shaunie). However, during that last reunion OG was required to sit in another set because Evilyn claimed to be afraid of OG. I stopped watching BW’s and the Housewife shows because these shows portray women at their worse, especially Black women. I was hoping BW’s would be canceled, no such luck. Evelyn was fully aware of the offense towards OG! Her ugliness & nastiness was/is apparent. She got caught & wants to clean it up. She thinks she's superior. I hope she's held accountable and suit against OG is dropped! She shouldn't be on the show as a primary cast as she has exemplified violence and hatred repeatedly...she has gotten too many passes!!
