Always fly the day before your cruise. I ALWAYS FLY THE DAY BEFORE MY CRUISE. You never know when something will go wrong, baggage lost, weather, delays, plane issues, YOU DON'T KNOW. I recommend people always drive or fly the day before a cruise. Glad that they got their money back. Also get travel protection and/or travel insurance to cover medical issues.

We had travel protection and booked a flight that would get us there 6pm the day before. We still didn’t arrive until 6am! 12 hours in an airport with a 1 yr old and 8yr old. I literally cried to get our seats because it was my daughter birthday trip. We checked in the hotel when they were serving breakfast, slept for 3 hours, and went to the port. From now on we planning to arrive the MORNING before

We had a cruise that left from Barcelona and we got there a day ahead. We toured the city and ate and enjoyed a full day there. We recently had an Alaskan cruise that left from Seattle and we booked it for the same day. Delta had some issues with the plane and we missed our cruise. 😢They sent us directly to Juneau Alaska with no problem and we had free hotel and food until the ship came and we got on with about 4 other passengers Lolol We leave for a Virgin cruise in the UK next week….we are definitely arriving a day early so we won’t miss the ship.

Q, you are wrong. As a former airline employee, if the AIRLINE is the cause, ie CREW or Maintenance, the fault is on the airline. It does not matter what flight segment they were in. I will say, you should never fly the day of any planned event. Acts of nature, or dignitaries arrivals are not compensated.
