Underrated as this console was, it´s an absolute dream-machine when it comes to homebrew! I was a playstation kid back in the day so Im now playing through Ocarina of time for the first time ever, this console is definately the best value I ever got for a gaming system so far ^^

Welp. Spent like 4 days doing it all myself using the OFFICIAL guide. Too many steps were missing, nothing ever worked or went right, and now that I just got stuff mostly working, it all broke and now the SD card is telling me to re-format it or else it can't be used. I am done using guides and stuff, sticking to your tutorials from now on. They're the only ones I ever come back to. Will let y'all know how it goes. Edit: everything seems normal again... Save data might be lost but it aint like i had that much to begin with, only played a total of like 20 minutes of games. Gonna attempt to use the Wii U downloader thing again, i got all the sigpatch stuff i need, i know for a fact i do, if it doesn't work, i give up.

Hi! Every time when i exit from USB Loader GX to Wii Menu & open USB Loader GX again i see Error USB Device not initialzed. Switching to channel list mode. I open Hard Drive Settings, SD Card Mode switch to ON, Mount USB at launch OFF, then press back & USB Loader GX reload to SD Card Mode and i see all Wii games normaly, but every neхt time when i exit from USB Loader GX & open it from Wii Menu this error appear again(

When doing the step at the 12:00 minute mark (launching the "Homebrew Browser") I get a "read error - 6" and it just perpetually retries and I can't do anything to get past this screen. I had to unplug my wii u in order to get anything to happen and when I retried this step the same thing happened. Does anyone know what is going wrong? I'm stumped and unable to progress any further...

Update: I'm pretty sure it has to do with my internet modem's security configuration which is apparently incompatible with the virtual wii. My internet provider locks the settings on my modem and there is nothing I can do about it. I've ordered a lan adapter and will retry this step once I get my internet wired. Other alternative would have been to buy router but I got a lan adapter for only $20 so fingers crossed this fixes it

Great guide. Two tips- if the IOS Patcher fails at the 10 minute mark of the video it may be because of using an off brand Wii controller. I switched to the official and it worked. And the Homebrew Channel doesn't seem to connect unless you're on a WPA2 wireless connection- it doesn't work with WPA3 in my experience.

I don't know why but when I'm trying to install Homebrew Browser it shows me the error "Read error -6 occurred. Retrying..." and I cannot even turn of the console. I should unplug it from the power because even a long push of the turn on\off button doesn't work. I turned on the console again and tried just to use USB Loader GX because the only thing I need on my vWii of Wii U is to play PAL games (my console is from Japan). I put the disc of The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess to the disc drive, started it and my monitor screen is black, the image is showing only on my Wii U gamepad. I tried to exit the game to the Wii Menu and... the console freezed again, this time both black screens - on my monitor and on my gamepad. Turn off button doesn't work again. So the only option is to unplug the console from the power again. I don't know what is going on. I am so disappointed, maybe someone could help me?

ok found the problem this is for everyone to use, so the file for the homebrew browser does sometimes not work so if you get your sd card and go inside the apps folder and delete the homebrew browser and install a new file for the homebrew browser (this can be done from the same link) and place it back into the apps folder. then try again with the browser and tell me if that works because i just tried it and it worked for me.

great video however i am trying to run my backed up games from SD card but I find that if i change the forwarder channel to look at the SD card the config change doesnt persist after exit. However if i try and change the setting by running usb loader from the homebrew menu it picks of the change? Does the loader use a different settings file? The games run fine from SD its just a pain to keep changing the setting on each load up

I had my Wii hacked for years, with a 1tb external HDD loaded with games already. And just got a WiiU a week ago. I have Aroma on it, and I wanna use the external HDD from my hacked Wii that is already loaded the WiiU's vWii. But when I used it on my hacked Wii, it is setup in FAT32 format. Does the external have to be NTFS for WiiU's vWii's USBLoader GX? Or do I just need to install the proper apps, cios, etc, then just hook up my external HDD as is?

Read error -6 is a network security error, you probably have xfinity or spectrum and they aren’t compatible. Try connecting your Wii to a mobile hotspot and continuing from there.

But my initial idea was to play Gamecube games directly on AND with the wii u gamepad as the controller , i've seen online that launching Nintendont through the wii u menu should work but it doesn't offer me to use the gamepad as a controller and instead take me straight to the vwii channel. the external hard drives formatted to the Wii U cannot be used on the vWii unfortunately. You can either get a different usb drive formatted as fat32 and plug it in at the same time, or you can use your SD card to store vwii apps/games

Hey, just a quick tip, since the wii u requires you to have a different usb that has your games on it, I've installed all my gamecube and wii games onto my SD card and load them all on wiiflow instead of USB loader (it doesn't accept wii games on sd) and then I never have to swap

I have an issue, every time i open USB Loader, it won't default to the SD card. Also when I have it set to the normal Wii menu look, the menu is really broken, games r missing the likes of the "Start Game" button

@@jamesroberts7No, it’s a known issue. Developer of usb loader gx wrote this is due to Priiloader, problem with titles. He will be fixed with the next update)

After following the SD Setup section and booting my Wii U, all of the content inside the apps (on the root, not the folder inside Wii U) and wad folders are deleted. I tried this again, left with the same result. If my SD Card is not stuck on read-only, then what is causing the Wii U to delete said folders' contents? Note: My Wii U has already been homebrewed with Aroma.

I solved the issue: Use Wiiu backup manager and upload the games through this software. In the options choose the right language ( I think must be equal of wiiu language). This solved for me.

So I gave a hard drive attached to my WiiU thats like a terabytes but its formatted for the WiiU. How would I put my wii and gamecube games from my SD card onto that hard drive? Normally I would just add another USB but my hard drive requires both ports to run

For anyone wondering, I figured it out. You need to use TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector. This will let you install any gamecube or Wii game directly onto your WiiUs homescreen like you would any other WiiU game backup. You put your game ISO into the program and it will spit out a WUP package. You put that folder into the "install" folder on your SD card, then put the SD card into your WiiU. You can then install your game onto the WiiU using a program like NUSspli. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I use a Wii Remote Plus and it works fine for every application I've used. Idk about Wii Mod however because I use (YAWMM) for installing wads instead of Wii Mod.
