I remember trying to watch arachnophobia an I couldn't, one scene showed John Goodmans character step on a big spider. That an towards the end of the movie, the main sort of leader spider would get these super close ups of its eyes an it grossed/freaked me out so much, and I think the other spider movie you were thinking is Eight Legged Freaks.

But that's mainly because according to Steve Terreberry, they've changed a lot throughout the years and people in general don't really like change. If you wanna know why they also get hate, here's a full reason, compliments of KZbinr Steve Terreberry (a.k.a. Stevie T): Metallica started off as a thrash metal band, until they "sold out" and did the black album, with a more mainstream sound, which was apparently a kick in the nuts to all of their original thrash metal fans. And then they start to get a little crazy. They do the whole "Load" and "Reload" thing, they bust out the fur coats, and they even bust out the eyeliner, which of course the original Metallica fans didn't like. And then you got Lars and Kirk having sex with each other, of course. And then, Lars had this huge "downloading music illegally" schtick with Napster, Inc. Though, then again, that was mainly due to copyright infringement. And then the 2000s roll around and they bust out the atrocity simply known as "St. Anger", which unfortunately sucked because Kirk Hammett didn't solo at all. But then after years of touring and releasing "Death Magnetic", which got pretty positive reviews, they managed to bring it all back. And at the end of the day, they're still Metallica. Oh, and by the way, according to Stevie T, we all know Dave Mustaine only created thousands of accounts just to hate on Metallica online. So, yeah, that explains why Metallica also gets a lot of hate. But seriously, we all know Lostprophets deserves a lot more hate than Metallica. Hell, Nickelback is clearly better than the entirety of Lostprophets. Sorry. ^^'
