Neighbors at my cottage in Canada have a beautiful Husky. She swims in the lake and visits every day....except she knows how to open my window screens. I have two cats who I can't risk getting out so I've had to use gorilla tape so she can't slide them open. She is the most determined, stubborn dog I've ever seen, but she's adorable.

Ever have your Husky tow you? I would throw a harness on my son's for mountain bike rides. He'd pull me up the street (a little over a 1/4 mile) until we got to the mountain trails, where I could take him off leash. He LOVED pulling me. Pretty much that's their thing. They also love chasing deer, apparently. He'd go nuts. Never was fast enough to catch them (wouldn't let him anyway). But, he had a blast thinking he could.

My sister had a malamute husky for 11 years, what a wonderfully large animal it was. I had a Lurcher that wouldn't play with any purebred dogs except huskies. Maybe because they are both old breeds of dogs, not sure. Love from Rotterdamn man..woman, dog ;)

I’d get the Belgian malinios instead of the Shepard it is easier to train and nearly identical breed that is literally a warrior used for war and a very loyal dog with less health problems on average with most of them. German Shepard are great dogs though but the amount of highly probable serious health problems is something you stand a chance of dealing with. Both dogs are fairly easy to to train you just need to learn German key words for your malinios because they’re trained in German so at whenever you have to use them for protection here in the states not many people will know the key words and will have less of a chance of being able to know what is coming beforehand.
