I had 3 legendaries in my first 70 packs. After that blizzard servers went apeshit and gave me 5 normal and 2 golden legendaries in my next 35 packs.

It does count. Through tests, there is always a turn limit. So if you do the combo, you essentially just steal your opponent's turns. Since this combo usually happens ~around turn 25 or so, you got like 60 or so turns to kill your opponent.
